Application Hang Waiting on Teams.exe Help!!!!!!!!!
We have an older application that seems to hang when performing a set printer command in our code (Paradox - pdxwin32.exe & Paradox Runtime pdxrwn32.exe). Windows logs the event and indicates that it is waiting on Teams.exe . I created a Paradox test form with some code in it that only sets the current printer for our session within the Paradox application, and as soon as we set our printer in the code to the printer we want that is in Windows and working properly, the app hangs and freezes until Teams.exe is closed/killed. See below for problem details. I can duplicate the issue consistently. We can also duplicate this problem individually with the RingCentral application (SoftPhone.exe), on-demand. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\gpapi.dll 10.0.16299.15
I'm not saying that Teams is hanging or crashing, I'm saying that Teams is causing the hang/crash. Paradox has been working fine for 11 years that I have been at this company. Windows XP, Windows Vista/7/8/10 has been working. As soon as I install Teams, it breaks the code in Paradox. Same for RingCentral and with Skype. Paradox does not have support, as I stated, it is an old program, but it is critical that it functions properly and that when I install a new program, it does not break Paradox. Do you have any constructive advice when it comes to installing Teams and it breaks Paradox code? Thanks, Shawn
Hi Paul, I did not. So I re-wrote ALL of the printing that we were doing in Paradox into a new application. It has been quite an undertaking. We now have a new c# app that utilizes Microsoft POS For .Net, and OPOS drivers provided by Epson and Star. Seems to work well so far, but as I said, it was a lot of work to do to get around this bugger. Good luck with your situation!
Hi all, As Huni mentioned, this issue may be caused by compatibility of software precious comments/thought to our above UserVoice team, they will be happy to hear from you. Thanks for your understanding. Regards, Richard
Hi Shawn, When you perform the command in Paradox, the Teams will not hang or crash, and if Teams is closed, the Paradox will continue. In my opinion, the Paradox hangs may be caused by the conflicts between the Paradox and Teams. Please contact Paradox support for further assistant. Your understanding is highly appreciated. Best regards, Rick
Hi Shawn, The issue you encountered may be caused by the compatibility of the software. You can submit feedback via the following link: https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/264636-general Thanks, Huni
Hi Shawn, Were you able to find a solution or workaround? Having a similar issue with Sage ERP 100 2017 and Teams.
Still working on this and I will post more, but click link below for video of what resolves this problem. Basically the Microsoft CRT library named ucrtbase.dll, when killed, frees up Paradox application and all is well. I found this same DLL being used in Teams and Ring Central. I have yet to check Skype, but I suspect it is being used there as well. So, Microsoft, why is this CRT library causing Paradox printer command to result in Paradox app hang until killed? https://www.screencast.com/t/tkKX4E1WlRh
AVG says sud.dll is infected. how do I get a replacement?
Original Title:Replacing SUD.dll file My AVG says that the file sud.dll is infected. how/where do I get another replacement file without re-installing Windows 7?
Hi, 1. What is the complete message that showed up? 2. When did the message show up? 3. Did your antivirus program detect any virus infections too? 4. Do you face any other issues on your computer? 5. Have you made any software or hardware changes to your computer prior to this issue? To work with the issue, you may run a SFC scan on your computer. I would suggest you to remove the virus that is detected. It seems the virus is disguised as a system file. If the system file is infected by the virus, you may quarantine the virus. Check if it helps.
Removed Control Panel settings makes Explorer crash
Hello all, Over time, Microsoft is migrating more and more settings from the Control Panel to the Settings app of Windows 10 but this led to a few issues in Control Panel. For example, when opening Control Panel and searc I have ran sfc /scannow and DISM and they didn't find any problems. This happens on a clean install of Windows 10 Pro x64. Could anyone else try this out and see if this is a general Windows bug?
No it does not. History is clean
No you are the only one experiencing this issue. I can build a 1803 vm later today and test it if you want to wait for my confirmation. I would very much like that, thank you. Also, there are 2 people experiencing a somewhat similar problem in this thread . In one case the desktop and taskbar redraws itself when clicking the setting. For the other case the modern settings app opens after clicking the setting but stays on the icon splash screen. Still have yet to confirm from him if an APPCRASH also appears in the Reliability History. I will be waiting for your confirmation from your test.
Can't recreate the app crash. But looks like they are removing that capability in the next major update. So might be a mute point now. Sorry. Thanks a lot for testing this out. I read that they're removing this Control Panel setting from the next update as well. Guess it's a matter of time then.
Could be. But no one else has come forward with the issue and i can see 14 other experts have verified this. What you could do is enter it as a bug in the feedback for Windows. See link. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/27932/...

With "14 other experts having verified this issue" do you mean that this bug and appcrash are reproducible at their end and thus confirmed?
No it does not. History is clean Thanks for checking. This is weird. Perhaps it's because you have build 1709 while I have build 1803, version 17134.286. Does your Desktop and Taskbar redraw/refresh itself when you click that setting in Control Panel? Perhaps anyone with build 1803 can test this out?
I am running version 1709 on windows 10 pro x64 bit and I was able to open file association from control panel by searching. Might be your profile. Create a new account and test it. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/402692... That's not what I meant. The setting does open normally yes but I was wondering if there is an APPCRASH of Windows Explorer in the Reliability History as I showed in my opening post. Does an APPCRASH appear in your Reliability History when clicking that setting in Control Panel?
