Hello, For us to isolate the issue you're having when trying to launch the said program, we recommend that you use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool. DISM is a tool developed by Microsoft to fix its own programs and processes especially when they involve system file corruption. If the issue isn't resolved by running the DISM tool, kindly use the System File Checker (SFC) tool again. System File Checker is a utility available in Windows 10 that checks and restores corrupted system files. For steps and more information regarding the DISM and the SFC tools, visit the link below: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files Let us know the outcome.
Blend for Visual Studio 2015 always hangs when I load a project
Hey guys, Having issues with Blend for Visual Studio 2015 on Windows 10 RTM (Clean install). Cant open any projects, the app just hangs. Visual Studio itself works fine. Here is what I got from the event logs: The Open Procedure for service "BITS" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\bitsperf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code. The Open Procedure for service "Lsa" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\Secur32.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code. Hashed bucket: Any ideas? This is extremely frustrating as I just want to design some applications!

I'm using Visual Studio 2015 Community and start Blend using the command "Design in Blend" from a Silverlight 5 solution then once blend loaded there's nothing. No messages and nothing has loaded. I tried to load the Silverlight 5 solution directly from Blend and same thing. Nothing happens. It loads nothing and no messages at all. Then when I try to close Blend I receive the error " Object reference not set to an instance of an object "

Explorer.exe crashes: Windows cannot open the 32-bit extensible counter DLL ASP.NET_2.0.50727 in a 64-bit environment.
Windows 8 Explorer crashes on a regular basis - whenever trying to copy/work with any folder containing NEF (Nikon Digital 'negatives') - these can be hard drive or network drive or SDHC card based files - location doesn't seem to be a defining issue. Seems to be completely stable with folders of JPGs or other images. Problem started occurring 5th July 2013 - and I rolled back the PC to a previous system restore point created automatically earlier that day (about 0330BST) thinking maybe an issue with an update. Hasn't resolved the problem. On looking at error logs (below) I can identify when Explorer.exe crashes and all preceding fails - but am running out of patience trying to figure out what/why this is crashing. System has been stable since build - and only in last 24 hours has their been any problems - and only where NEF image files are present! PC is Windows 8 Pro, Intel i5 3530K
The file which appears to be causing Explorer to crash is the MSVCR80.dll: Faulting application name: explorer.exe, version: 6.2.9200.16433, time stamp: 0x50763312 Faulting module name: MSVCR80.dll , version: 8.0.50727.6910, time stamp: 0x4fee6687 However another, possibly third party, file may be at issue. For instance in the following thread it was the DivXMFSource.dl: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/windows-explorer-keeps-crashing-and-restarting-on/8709a2c3-1995-4e41-a958-206bb5a5700f it may be useful to try to capture a user-mode dump of the explorer.exe crash to try to get more info on the crash. You can configure Windows to create user-mode dumps. Create a System Restore Point first. If you copy and paste the following in Notepad and save as a .reg file, then right-click the .reg file and select "Merge" to add to the registry, a .dmp file at the time explorer.exe crashes should be created in the C:\CrashDumps folder: Windows Registry Editor
OK, thanks for the follow-up. If the problematic module was the P1.WIC.NativeComWrapper.dll renaming the P1.WIC.NativeComWrapper.dll may have worked as in the following thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/windows-explorer-has-stopped-working-and-then/ddf50775-451e-478e-b014-fd0cbe82bd72 You could consider contacting Phase One support on the issue.
Thanks Auggy for replying. I think I might have found the cause at about midnight last night - although only further testing will confirm... Had recently (last weekend) installed Capture One's equivalent of Adobe Camera Raw and uninstalling that seems to have (at least for the moment) stopped the crashing problem. Have had Explorer windows open in the background for at least a couple of hours now with no apparent issues. Apart from windows updates was the last thing to be installed... Don't you just love buggy software!

Windows 10 event log nothing but errors
Hello I am running Windows 10 and my Event log is filled with errors. This is after a clean(refresh drives clean) install. I boot up and get errors from the beginning. LOL I thought it was too good to be true. There is no equivalent of the previos O/S 'Repair Install' You really got my hopes up there Niranjan Following the links you provided: you can 'Troubleshoot' as you suggested to repair my windows but on reading what 'Troubleshoot' actually does reveals that it can fix a non booting windows 10 and that basically is ALL it does so sorry that still does not help me. The other options are to try a system restore to an earlier time. Already tried several restore points and problems remained so that is no good. There is a RESET option which is a another way of saying re-install window 10 completely losing all your apps but at least your user data is saved. Again no use to me :-( Oh there is a 4th and last option and that is to restore from a system image (Funnily the 'Create System Image' backup option is well and truly buried in windows 10. I only found it because I am used to creating a system image as a recovery option. Also and this would be fu
Do you actually have a problem you are trying to resolve? There are always a myriad of errors and warnings in the event log. There always has been and in general are not a problem in themselves. This is one of the ways scammers convince people that there is a problem on their PC. They will take you to the System log and point out all the errors. They then tell you these are causing security problems. It's not the case.
Hi d0gknees, It's ok I am quite aware of the scammers and when On the few occasions I get a call I act and lead them on but then start to smarten up and start asking them questions they cant answer. Ok so if I have a virus on my PC could you tell me what my IP address is :-) As it happens I do have a couple of problems one of which I listed here: File History no longer seeing drives I have had two Microsoft support engineers try to help and one suggestion actually made the problem worse and neither have come back to me since. My latest problem is that trying to run any 32bit application the app just crashes straight away. according to the event ID its due to a faulting DLL belonginging to Mvc 2008 32bit and by uninstalling that visual C distributable and re-installing it, it would replace the corrupt DLL. Accept it did not and the problem remains. Sorry I should not bring you into this but start a thread but as I feel I have exhausted all suggestions. I will leave it.
Hi bluewhale1 I will suggest you to do a fresh installation of Windows 10 on PC.
Hi Derek, Thank you for the update and apologies for the inconvenience. You may want to run a repair of Windows 10. Step 1: Download the Windows 10 ISO Refer to the article below and download Windows 10 ISO using Media Creation Tool. Download Windows 10 Step 2: Make a USB flash drive bootable Refer to the article to download Windows USB/DVD Download Tool to transfer ISO to USB flash drive to make it bootable device. Windows USB/DVD Download Tool Important: Ensure there is no data in USB flash drive before making it bootable device. If you have any data, back it up accordingly. Step 3: Refer to the section Use installation media to troubleshoot or re-install Windows from the article below. Recovery options in Windows 10 Hope this helps.
I know its a silly Question but have you installed all the drivers specific to your system ? I see allot of "Device manager error" . It could be related a quick look in your device manager might reveal some issues that needs to be addressed . You seem to have allot of software installed specially for a fresh install with stability issues , small steps is the key to efficiently finding issues . I would usually suggest to test basic hardware (PSU-MEM-HDD) along with latest bios revision for your motherboard and a quick cpu and videocard temperature check . You can waste three lifetimes trying to figure out a software issue when all that time it was simply a symptom caused faulty hardware . At the very least check your hard drive download a free trial of hard disk sentinel and select your disk then in the tab called disk select "extended test" if you Fresh install then Unplug all unnecessarily devices . keep only the keyboard ,mouse ,screen and internet connection . get the proper "up to
Well I can vouch that it does not get any better. I have all but given up with my windows 10. I seem to get a new error in the eventlog everyday and of course no one at Microsft seems interested in all the problems. Twice I had MS support to help me fix problems and twice they just dissapeared and never came back to me because basically they had no clue. Ho Hum someone gimme a gun!
I did a refresh Recovery where all the files are cleaned out and drives wiped clean. I did this yesterday it only been running after the refresh for about 14 hours. Is that not good enough? Should I secure erase my hard drives and re-download and install on a thumb drive?
Thank you so much Niranjan, I thought I had exhausted all my options and was looking at a complete re-install of windows 10. I was not aware that windows 10 supported the evquivelant of carrying out a rapair install of windows and I certainly do not fancy re-installing everything again. I do have a Backup Image of the system but it's quite old now and I may have to bite the bullet however I wil certainly try your suggestion. BTW another error this morning an apparent DLL mismatch in "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86" is causing several of my 32Bit apps to fall over before they even fully load. I unistalled and re-installed "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86" as I read that this was the way to replace the corrupt DLL but alas the DLL was either not removed and re-installed or it faulted as soon as called. Ok I am rambling. Thanks again. Derek

Windows 10 Event Viewer Reports Errors; What To Do?
Today and also previous days, I have seen the following errors at startup, as reported in my Event Viewer. a. My PC seems to be running normally and I am not experiencing symptoms. b. Should I be concerned? c. Should I consider these nine errors separately, or as indicative of one or two conditions? I see and will work with Gerry's Computer Tips at http://www.gerryscomputertips.co.uk/syserrors5.htm. 15. The Open Procedure for service "Lsa" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\Secur32.dll" failed. 16. Hi Kamel, Thank you for the reply. Sorry for the delay. Are you also facing the exact issue? SFC scan may not work properly on some system, you can try other steps and check if it helps. If the issue persists, try Startup repair and check. 1. On a working PC, go to the Microsoft software download website and create Windows 10 installation media. 2. Insert the installation media you created, and then restart your PC. 3. On the Install Windows screen, select Repair your computer . (If you’re not seeing this screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to boot from media, and then try again.) 4. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot . Select Advanced Options > Startup Repair. Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.
Thanks for the reply. When you say, "Some error are caused by non-Microsoft programs running on your system and others are caused by Microsoft programs or services" -- would it be helpful to dig further and see if those programs need to be adjusted? I suppose that would involve: (a) identifying which program it was, and (b) knowing what settings to change.
Kalpana, I followed your suggestion and run the sfc/scannow. After running the verification with 36% complete and got the following message "windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation. What should I do next ? I am running windows 10. Thanks
Hi, Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. Some error are caused by non-Microsoft programs running on your system and others are caused by Microsoft programs or services. You do not have to worry about these errors. Try to run Microsoft Safety Scanner. It helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software. http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx Also, try to run SFC scan. Scan for damaged system files. Right-click the Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin) . In the Command Prompt window, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter. Then type dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and hit Enter. Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

DID you run DISM to fix the things SFC could not? Instructions for DISM are at the end of this wiki http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_10-update/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-repair-system-files/bc609315-da1f-4775-812c-695b60477a93 Have you tried re-installing the games?
So I am doing the DISM thing now...will report with results good or bad here shortly
So running DISM and not getting anywhere. I have made an iso of my computers current version. I have mounted that iso. I told DISM to fix the files that are bad with source that is mounted. It returns that there isn't a mounted iso or it couldn't find anything. I work nights and have to go to bed. But on the other thing about reinstalling game. The game has been uninstalled and reinstalled. The graphics driver has been completely wiped and reinstalled. We also went to previous versions. We went as far as reinstalling ALL OF Windows from a complete wipe and reinstall and update to current consumer non-insider update. The Computer does great on everything else. Nothing happens when I do anything else before or after that game. Could it be possible that the game makes those files crash and so we have to come back after the game gets updated? Just wondering if the game is the problem since it only happens when I am currently playing it. I may do a fresh install from other iso's to see if

Hi, You can also try to post your concern in our TechNet for the SQL errors that you are having. TechNet Forums Regards.
On my case, the underlying issue is that my pc freezes, I can only move the mouse, and perform alt tab, but for the rest is freezed, it doesn't refresh the screen while switching apps, or anything else. The only way to get out of that situation is to turn off pc by hardware, and when restarted, I can see that exception in the eventvwr. It seems that I also have some "Access denied" for some files of sqlserver. Also, i'm using windows 10 and i[m confindent that this problem started a few days ago with an specific windows update. computer freezing when doing anything resource heavy
About a month ago my computer just wouldnt turn on, something burned out on the mother board and i replaced it and installed windows again. after doing so anytime I would do anything heavy processing wise ( I do 3d modeling and game stuff so I mean building lights or processing a model things that use cpu gpu and ram) the computer would freeze and would have to be restarted. Over the last month I have (sadly) replaced every part in the computer and unless it is the new motherboard I would say it has something to do with software. in the event log I keep getting perflib errors around the time of the freeze The Open Procedure for service "MSDTC" in DLL "C:\Windows\system32\msdtcuiu.DLL" failed. im getting errors at startup about perfmon cannot be initialized for the gatherer service. uncommonly ill get a error at startup stating "unable to add [5 or 6] counters". i tried to follow what... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc734398%28v=ws.10%29.aspx ...stated (although win server, it kept redirecting me here) i was able to gather report (nothing), restart wsearch, but what got to me was adding a searching indexer to perfmon; there was none by the name. then when i revisited event viewer, i get failed dll for Open Procedure for service [multiple names] for the following dlls: aspnet_counters.dll, msdtcuiu.DLL, sysmain.dll; all stating after ward "The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the Windows error code." then an error states "Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL TermService. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the Windows error code." and "Unable to read the "First Counter" value under the usbperf\Performance Key.
Hi, Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue? This issue might occur due to dll files getting corrupted. Method 1: I would suggest you to perform clean boot and check if the issue persists. Clean boot will disable all the third party programs that is causing the issue. How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: Follow How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot from article KB929135 to reset the computer to normal mode. Method 2: I would suggest you to run SFC scan. SFC scan will scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. a. Type “cmd” on the Start screen. b. Right-click on it and select “Run as administrator”. c. Type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow Method 3: This issue also could be due to virus on the computer.
