Windows 8.1 Explorer.exe crashes randomly
I asked this question a few days ago and I got rid of the problem by re-installing windows. But now I'm experiencing the problem again. Hi Sijan, Thank you for asking here. Are you using any antivirus? if yes then which one?
I've uninstalled eset nod 32 and am not noticing frequent explorer.exe crashes. But I need Antivirus in my PC. if I update it to the latest version, will the problem be solved?
are you using the latest version of Nod 32 which is 8.0.312.0 ?
Nope, it's 8.0.301.0 . Do I need to update my AV?
I'm using Eset Nod 32 antivirus
Sijan, Disable the Nod32 icon in the Nod32 options or remove the tool. Then let me know if it works for you. Best of luck.
Sijan, Install that antivirus and give a update. Then use it: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=128FC518635BE2DC&id=128fc518635be2dc%21672 to disable the Dup creation . That should solve your problem. If solved kindly marked this topic as answered. Thhank you for staying with microsoft,
Outlook 2016 Crashing when view Group Conversations
I'm having a similar issue that was described in this thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_outlook-mso_winother/microsoft-outlook-2016-32-bit-crashes-when-viewing/3116f906-f4f6-4929-97a1-3b56c04ca6e2?page=2 My Office version is: 16.0.6965.2063 Issue: Everytime I click on one of my Outlook Groups in the Outlook 2016 (32 bit) client, Outlook crashes on the conversations screen. Darn. I am on a newer build, and it's broken again. I am 64-bit 16.0.7204.1000.
Kevin, what Office version are you on, where it's now fixed?
Hi Kevin, Thanks for your updates. Take your time to test it in another clean PC and then let us know the result. In addition, I notice the latest Office version is 16.0.7070.2026, so please check if the issue persists after updating Office. To update Office: Click File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now in any one of Office suites. Regards, Larry
Hi KevinTLee, About the #3, could you please share with us a screenshot? As I know, in Outlook safe mode, group conversations are hiden by default, but we can manually click Show Conversation to show them. Do you mean that you cannot manually show them? Please also share with us the following information for a better understanding of the whole situation: Does the issue occur to other users? Does the issue occur to all groups or certain groups? In another clean PC, please download the Office suite from the Office 365 account portal and then set up your account in Outlook to check the issue. Thanks, Brook
Larry, Great news, the office update fixed the issue. I'm able to access groups again via the Outlook client! Thanks for your help.
I am having the same issue when I hit file options in outlook (2016). The support team had me install, de-install, run a number of scripts to remove the office product still have a problem.. I believe its a Microsoft issue with where the two are not compatible; started after I updated with the latest OS patch
ahh, I'm actually on 32 bit version so that might be the latest public build for that flavor.
Hi Brook, Regarding running in safe mode, when I click on the "Show Conversations" button, it also crashes Outlook. 1. I think this issue is unique to my computer. 2. The issue occurs for all groups. 3. I'll try this and report back.
MS Project Professional 2013 crashes repeatedly

Hi Subbarao, I understand the frustration when things don't work as expected. You may post the question in the link mentioned below if only Microsoft Project Professional crashes for better assistance. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-project-os_device_win7?sort=lastreplydate&dir=desc&tab=Threads&status=&mod=&modAge=&advFil=&postedAfter=&postedBefore=&threadType=All&tm=1429126043245 But, if other applications too crash then you may place the computer in clean boot and check if it helps. To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." First thought is that something pretty basic is wrong so Project probably didn't install properly so I would: Repair the Project installation Install SP1 for Project 2013 and the latest updates. Windows update will do this for you
Thanks Rod for the response. I have installed MS Project professional 2013 on factory clean machine also. The issue still exists. The issue exists even after installing SP1 for Project 2013. I have not done windows update, but downloaded Project 2013 SP1 and installed it. My machine is 64-bit. Does that cause any issue.
Outlook 2016 crashes using it with Exchange Server 2010
Hi, I'm running a laptop and desktop with Outlook 2016 on Windows 10. I have 2 profiles for Outlook, 1 for work connecting to Microsoft Exchange and 1 for charity work connecting to an Exchange Server 2010. The 1st profile works without any problem. The 2nd one worked for a short while on both the laptop and the desktop, but crashes after a few weeks of using it. I can access the charity emails on Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 and Windows 10 without a problem. The thread 0x1a60 has exited with code -2146233082 (0x80131506). The program ' OUTLOOK.EXE' has exited with code -2146233082 (0x80131506).
Hi Markus, Since the issue is related to an Exchange server email account, I request you to post this query in following TechNet forum for better suggestion: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/threads Thank you.
Word crashes when saving to network drive
I have had multiple employee report that when saving an existing document after changes were made or saving a new document Word crashes. I was actually able to replicate the issue Replication steps where Open Word Click File I can save the file locally and then copy it over to the network drive. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Many thanks for this reply - exact same issue happening with us. Checking today with Synology's website - https://www.synology.com/en-uk/releaseNote/DS1815 + It looks like the patch is rolling out internationally v.soon. Thanks Calab and Qing for sharing :)
Hi Caleb, Did the issue still exist? Do you have any updates? Thanks, Qing
I found this to be a known issue with my NAS drive. https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2091813-excel-2016-crashing-on-save-to-synology-network-share Making the changes recommended in the article resolved the issue. Thanks for helping troubleshoot.
Hi Caleb, Based on your description, I suggest you try Safe Mode to check if the issue occurs: Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC If the issue still exists, could you please provide the following information? 1. Check if all files have the issue. 2. Check if the issue occurs if you save files to another Network Driver if you have it, as I didn’t meet the issue when I tested. 3. Can you save as document successfully before? Which operation have you taken before the issue occurred, such as updating Office? Thanks, Qing
Yes it still happens. If the issue still exists, could you please provide the following information? 1. Check if all files have the issue. It is random even with the same file. Example I open file A save using the save button and no issues. reopen the same file and save it again and it crashes. 2. Check if the issue occurs if you save files to another Network Driver if you have it, as I didn’t meet the issue when I tested. I don't have another network drive to test with. 3. Can you save as document successfully before? Which operation have you taken before the issue occurred, such as updating Office? We could save successfully before. The only recent change It crashes even in save mode. Caleb
Hi Caleb, Thanks for your updates. If the affected files is less, I suggest you try the following steps, the issue may be related to the files: 1. Create the new documents. 2. Copy the content of affected files to the new documents. If you need further help, could you please provide the affected file that we can repro the issue? To protect your privacy, I've sent you a private message to collect the information . You can access it via private message 。 Thanks, Qing

Office Files Vanish with Windows 10
I am running Windows 10 and working with Office 2016 Pro. This is months after I upgraded from 8.1 Pro. That went OK. # I just lost the latest changes to yet another WORD document. I opened it, thinking it would be the last version that was saved, but no... I got a version from two days previously. So WHERE is the file that I edited and saved ???? # This is a very simple basic routine operation here. User works on a file and saves it to disk, and it should be there on the disk when the user wants to continue editing and adding to the file. This was the prime functionality of DOS 1.0, decades ago. # I clicked opened the latest named file. But discovered it was an older version. Later, WORD asked me to log in. What business is it of Microsoft whether I'm logged in or not. I'm working on my own on my desktop. I HAVE NO NEED for Microsoft to snoop through my files. What this issue boils down to is this: Why can't Windows 10 keep track of the files on a user's desktop hard drive ??? # Why does Explorer show multiple paths to the same file ??? No wonder the system can't keep track of files. Why does Microsoft insist on One Drive for users who don't need it. I'm not playing with a toy smart phone here. I don't want to do my work over and over again because the file I last edited has somehow disappeared. ApplicationIdentity=00000000000000000000000000000000 It doesn't ring any bells for me. But it is certainly worrisome. If someone else has had this or similar problems, please add your two-cent's worth.

Hi Sam, Based on your description and looking at the log file, the crash seems to happen when you open an older file, such as a .doc file, in protected view mode. This issue is often caused by a bug in a faulty DisplayLink driver that shipped in an earlier Windows 10 update. You can try this guide too see if it resolves the issue. Please keep us updated when you have the time. Regards, Sheen
MS Visio 2013 crashes
I have MS Visio 2013 installed. The software installed just fine. As soon as I click on the create button after clicking a template. I get the following message. MS Visio has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I believe an add-in stencil/template or some dll is causing it to fail. I started MS Visio in Safe mode ... Can someone explain me how to identify and remove this conflicting add-in. Thanks in advance. AppPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\VISIO.EXE ApplicationIdentity=00000000000000000000000000000000
I was able to get to the File -> options menu. I do not have any add-ins installed. No add-ins are enabled. Visio still crashes on clicking the Create button. Please assist.
Hi there! I was having this exact issue, and I solved it by installing the Visio 2013 SP1 update, found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2817443/description-of-microsoft-visio-2013-service-pack-1-sp1 Maybe that will help you as well?
No. Visio crashes in safe mode also. I'm unable to get to File -> options Any alternate suggestions to solve this problem?
Hi, Do you mean there is no crashing issue in Visio safe mode? If so, please go to File > Options > Add-ins, set Manage COM add-ins, click GO. In the add-ins list, uncheck to disable all add-ins, then restart Visio 2013 normally. Confirm if the crashing issue persists. If the issue can be fixed after disable all add-ins, we can enable the listed add-in one by one and repeat to restart Visio after enable one add-in to narrow down the issue to one specific add-in.

Could you please let us know which driver version you rolled back to? I rolled back to 15.200.1046.2 and that worked to fix my issues with all of Office.
I had the same problem. I had to rollback the driver update that Windows applied. Soon as the old driver was loaded Lync started with no issues.
Unfortunately for me rolling back didn't do the trick, but disabling the ATI driver in device manager did :( Thanks for the tip - been pulling my hair out trying to find the cause of this prob.
Rolling back the ATI driver update fixed this for me, as well. Thanks for the tip. In the Start menu, type 'Device Manager', launch that control panel, expand the 'Display adapters' and double-click on the adapter. Go to the Driver tab and click 'Roll Back Driver'.
Hi, As I understand that you are having issues with Lync 2013, I would suggest you to post your query on TechNet forum for specialized assistance. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?category=lync&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc Hope this information is helpful. Which video card driver do you have installed? You can get that information by doing the following: Run dxdiag. Choose yes to verify signatures Click Save All Information. Open dxdiag.txt file Driver Date/Size: 2/12/2015 10:00:32, 16370120 bytes WHQL Logo'd: Yes
I've got a Dell Precision T5600 with an AMD/ATI FirePro 2270 and Office 2013 apps were crashy with Lync being the worst as it would crash at launch 100% of the time. When I rolled back the Microsoft supplied AMD display adapter driver to the basic Microsoft adapter it fixed all my Office stability probs, however I lost multi mon. I then went and installed the AMD/ATI display adapter drivers from Dell by downloading the driver app pack .exe, unpacking into a folder and pointing device manager at it. I got multi mon back and Office apps are stable.
Driver Roll back Worked for me too. Thanks a lot guys for the inputs.
Could you please let us know which driver version you rolled back to?
I use AMD RADEON HD5850 with driver came from Windows Update. Installed AMD catalyst omega 14.12 driver for Windows 8.1 64-bit from AMD web site fixed this issue. Happy camper again! Thanks for all the input guys! :D Resources: http://www.amd.com/en-us/solutions/software-partners/microsoft/windows
Entering web page address in New Contact - Outlook 2016
I have crashing (Microsoft Outlook has stopped working) and closing outlook, every time when entering a web page address. I have POP3 account and Outlook 365 Small Business Premium on new windows 10 computer. It started happening soon after I got new computer and migrated emails and contacts to it. I have tried all of the things in https://support.office.com/en-us/article/outlook-not-responding-stopped-working-freezes-or-hangs-5c313d04-64af-4441-82d2-44e5a43eee5a with no help, including making a new account and transferring all to new account, repairing the .pst files numerous times, running outlook in safe mode (note my contacts folder doesn't show in safe mode so can't try I going to contacts). I also have run the Offcat program and it doesn't show anything except it says that one update needs to be done but office update and update through outlooks File/Office Account/Office Updates shows everything is up to date. Here are two log files: ONE from the Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer AppPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE ApplicationIdentity=00000000000000000000000000000000
I couldn't fix it, Microsoft tech support for office 365 logged into my computer couldn't fix it and an IT guy I hired couldn't fix it. The IT guy put me back to Office 2013 and everything now works. I will stay with 2013 until I have the urge, time and insane thinking to try 2016 again. Good luck with the issue, let me know if you figure out anything.
The previous reply just sent by itself, more Microsoft frustration: I have followed all your advice with no help. FYI, how I have my Outlook 365 business pro set up: I am using POP3 with 9 email accounts for two different companies with two different domain names. In my new company I have 20 email folders under the Inbox with 12 of them as a sub folder to one of the email folders. I have 7 main Contact folders with 40 sub contacts under these folders. I have all the other folders created when a new PST data file is created. I have a second Data PST file I use for my old company emails which has 12 email folders but I don't use the contacts folder in this data file. And last I have an archive data file. The following is what I did per your instructions. I exported all my emails, contacts calendar, rules to separate PST files for each where each PST file also included sub folders. I also exported one of my contacts folders called "Vendor" to it's own PST file and CSV file as this
Did you find a fix for this? I have been trying to fix this same issue on a users computer for a few days now with no luck. I have also just discovered that my own outlook gives the same crash when trying to enter a web address into a new contact...very frustrating.

mscorwks.dll app crashes
Hello Everyone this is my first post on here. I have windows 7 ultimate x64. I always keep up to date on windows updates. recently I started getting app crashes in 2 applications, Ketarin, and quickbooks pro 2011. looking at the crash log it appears that mscorwks.dll is the root of the crashes. mscorwks.dll 2.0.50727.5466. I have ran SFC and it comes back ok with no problems. Any help would be appreciated! here ae the logs I am getting from a program called appcrashview Quickbooks: Version=1 EventType=APPCRASH AppPath=C:\Users\Hep\Desktop\D7\3rd Party Tools\Ketarin\Ketarin.exe ReportDescription=Stopped working

Fully-patched Word 2016 crashes 100% of the time in safe mode on "open file" dialog box
All Office 2016 apps (32-bit/Windows 10) crash occasionally for me when trying to open or save a file. There are dozens of threads in this forum and elsewhere with similar issues, but none of the standard checklist of solutions make any difference for me. Interestingly, I'm able to reproduce the problem 100% of the time running winword.exe in safe mode. When I don't run in safe mode, the crashes are more random; however, they often occur when trying to save a file resulting in data loss so it's a serious issue. In safe mode, it occurs every time. Steps to reproduce: (1) Run winword.exe /safe ApplicationIdentity=00000000000000000000000000000000 MetadataHash=-582748719
Do you have the Preview Pane active in the File Explorer dialog?
Tentatively it appears that deleting the registry key HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\portal\Link Providers\MySiteHost\URL fixes this problem. This is clearly a bug -- having a MySiteHost URL setting should not cause Word to crash 100% of the time. Hopefully this can be escalated to the right people to fix more systematically.
Do you have the Preview Pane active in the File Explorer dialog? No.
Outlook 2010 crashes constantly
I have a computer with Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2010 connected to a Exchange 2003 server. During te day Outlook will crash a couple of times. I did an Office repair, created a new ost file, did chkdsk /r /f on the system, all the latest Microsoft updates are installed, disabled all unnecessary addins. Most of the time Outlook crashes when opening an attachement like a pdf or excel file. We have more Windows 7 computers with Office 2010 but these don't seem to have the same problem. When the crash occurs it's generates the following error message, what could cause this? Version=1 EventType=APPCRASH EventTime=129829257361994077 ReportType=2 Consent=1 UploadTime=129829257365094077 ReportIdentifier=cc1570de-aaf8-11e1-bf58-6c626dd63074 IntegratorReportIdentifier=cc1570dd-aaf8-11e1-bf58-6c626dd63074 WOW64=1 Response.BucketId=2924211341 Response.BucketTable=1 Response.type=4 Sig.Name=Naam van de toepassing Sig.Value=OUTLOOK.EXE Sig.Name=Versie van toepassing Sig.Value=14.0.6117
Does the same thing happen if you start Outlook in safe mode? Hold Ctrl when you click its icon to start it. Have you tried repairing the Office installation?
Haven't tried safe mode yet, but I did an Office repair, this didn't help. Is there any way to find out why Outlook is crashing, maybe generate a dump file or something when it crahses?
IE9 crash on some page after installing KB2888505
After updating IE9 with KB2888505, it start crashing on some pages. After uninstalling the KB2888505 patch, IE9 works correctly in those pages. We also tried to disable all the plugins used in IE9 (iexplore.exe -extoff) but with no luck. We also tried to fresh install windows 7 with IE9 (RTM version) in a VM environment, it works correctly. But after installing the KB2888505 patch. It start crashing. Here is the report list in the Event Viewer: Event 1000, Application Error: Faulting application name: iexplore.exe, version: 9.0.8112.16520, time stamp: 0x525a68d9 AppPath=C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe We can also provide a crash dump if needed.
a prototype to illustrate this problem. Can that be made public? Or a repro description in words be made? It would help your case if you could have others saying that they could see the same symptom, e.g. in your Connect report. FWIW I am now on KB2888505 on IE11 and was not able to reproduce the crash I saw yesterday while editing a quote from your first message. I'm not surprised that I wasn't able to recreate it because, as I mentioned, that particular one has always seemed to be random, in fact, less frequent than it once was.
After updating IE9 with KB2888505, it start crashing on some pages. Do you have a repro procedure with any particular page? We can also provide a crash dump if needed. Stack Back Trace might be useful but from your list of Loaded Modules I doubt that anything will jump out at me the way it sometimes does from that diagnostic. I suspect a repro procedure will be the most useful additional symptom description. BTW while trying to edit your Quote I managed to crash my older version of IE11 (on W8.1 Preview). And I just got 0x80073712 for Some updates were not installed when I tried to get KB2888505 manually. So I will see if mine is less stable when I get that applied. I'm not sure that I could reproduce the crash I just had though. It's one I have had in here before with varying frequency but never known how to repro sufficiently to bother trying to report it. HTH Robert Aldwinckle ---
Hi Rebert, Thanks for your quick response. As the problematic page is in our internal system, I cannot disclose it publicly... So I also submit a bug report to connect.microsoft.com ( https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/810110/ie9-crash-on-some-page-after-installing-kb2888505 ) with a prototype to illustrate this problem. Hope the information is enough to trace. Regards, Sammy

Outlook (desktop) 2013 Crashing
Outlook keeps crashing. Product is Office 365 Small Business Premium. Error messages are below. What changed? Word and Excel icons were not showing properly. I re-ran install with Quick Repair. It fixed the icon problem. Opened Outlook read a few emails and crash. Now crashing continuous as soon as it opens. Ran the longer Online Repair but no change. Any help greatly appreciated. I have the same problem. What gives?
Hi Dennis503: OMG - you're a genius - I also just uninstalled Windows Update KB3097877 after having had the same problems the last couple of days and looks like my Outlook is stable once more. I also wasted time uninstalling / reinstalling Office 365, uninstalling / reinstalling my security software (BitDefender, Malwarebytes, WebRoot), and my fall back was my iPhone to access Outlook. I could have also accessed my e-mails via my ISP (web mail) which I do when I'm not on my computer and don't have my iPhone at hand, and that would have been the next step. KB3097877 was first installed on my computer on Nov 10, and soon after I started to have problems. After uninstalling / reinstalling Office 365 a couple of times, Outlook was OK for a little while, and then the crashes started to happen again. Lesson learned - if I come across this issue again - I'll just uninstall EVERY recent Windows update, assuming that a fix to the update with the bug will be resolved sooner or later. You're the
David Glad I was able to help. I did backout some add-ins first and did the office re-installs. I was thinking the PST file was corrupt. Thankfully not. This is the future with auto-updates. Heaven help us. Regards Dennis
I think I may have found the found. As noted in another post, a Windows Update KB3097877 has to due with Outlook showing pictures from outside sources. Based on the other comments, I uninstalled Windows Update KB3097877. Then rebooted. It has been ok now for 3 hours. I think we're good. So I lost about 10 hours of productivity resolving this. To Deepak, it is an Outlook issue thus posted here.
Hello Dennis, Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query. Was there any recent updates installed on the computer? Outlook 2016 Crashes in drag and drop of mail
Hi Experts Outlook 2016 crashing on drag and drop. Issue reproduce steps 1) User drag and drop the mail to our application 2) Our application uses the python win32com API to read the mail MetadataHash=-697806837 Moved from: Outlook.com / Email / Connecting to Outlook.com with apps and devices
Hi, Thank you for letting us know of your concern. To help you identify the issue, we would like to ask a few questions regarding your concern. Have you performed any updates for Outlook recently? Were there any changes made on your device? When did the issue started? Alternatively, we suggest running the Office Repair tool to determine if there are missing files that might be causing the program to stop responding. Here's the link to the article. We look forward to your response on this.
Hi , Same python code working for outlook 2010. Recently machine has upgraded to Windows10 and issue started. Office Version : 1708(Build 8431.2215 Click-to-Run). We are still seeing the issue after online-repair. Could you please let us know any tools can help us to identify which COM object causing the crash. Thanks, Joshi
Hi Joshi, Thanks for the providing additional information. Certain add-ins may cause issues with Outlook. A quick way to find out is by starting Outlook in Safe Mode. To do this, follow these steps: Right-click the Start button and choose , there’s a problem with the add-in you unchecked. We recommend you visit the company website for the add-in to check for an updated version you can install. If there isn’t a newer version or if you don’t need to use the add-in you can leave it unchecked or remove it from your PC. Kindly update us with the result.
Word 2013 hangs on a document created in Word 2007
The document was originally a 5 page agreement created in Word 2007 and the original functioned correctly. Another user who is testing Office 2013 opened it in Word 2013 and was unable to print it. I also have Office 2013 and the document exhibits the same behavior for me. In Word 2013, it will not print. I have done the following: 1 AppPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\WINWORD.EXE ReportDescription=A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.
Is it just one particular document with which you have the problem? If you send me a copy of the original document, I will try and determine the cause of the problem.
Word 2016 crashes randomly with BEX error
Hi, I have a COM add-in developed for Word2010 with VS2013 targeting .Net framework 4.0. Add-in works fine in 2010 but the same add-in crashes randomly in 2016. So I have created "2016 Word Add-in template" in VS 2015 targeting .Net framework 4.6 and copy pasted the code from 2010 add-in template to 2016 add-in template. Still I am facing the crashing issue randomly, mostly on closing the document. The is happening in both 86-bit and 64-bit office versions and also for every one (approx 150 users). Could anyone please help me with your valuable inputs in solving this issue. Please let me know incase of more details. Thanks, Stanley
I cannot start Outlook 2016 keeps crashing "Unexpected error"
I cannot start Outlook 2016 keeps crashing "Unexpected error" The computer is new and the error is present from the first use. I have tried everything reinstallation, upgrades of all components, Microsoft repair tools. Nothing has helped. Error report: Version=1 ApplicationIdentity=624D470CD7A8FBEFED289B370B20FA02 MetadataHash=-1760541261
I have solved the issue. I have tried the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365 several times without success but the last run was successful and it has solved the issue. I am not sure what was the root cause of the issue, but the tool has identified the cause of the issue and it has solved the issue. Thank you for reply.
Its a win/PC problem, possibly memory related
OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro 9.0 crashes Excel 2013
I downloaded and installed the msi from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14839 onto my Windows 7 computer. I started Excel 2013, click Data > Get External Data > From Other Sources > From Data Connection Wizard > Other/Advanced > Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro. Excel crashes when I click Next with the message "A problem has caused Microsoft Excel to stop working." Here is the debugging information. If I am reading this right, this is a 32-bit provider that doesn't like my 64-bit system. How do I fix that? 'EXCEL.EXE': Loaded 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\EXCEL.EXE', Cannot find or open the PDB file The thread 'Win32 Thread' (0xfa4) has exited with code 0 (0x0). The program ' EXCEL.EXE: Native' has exited with code 0 (0x0).

OneNote 2016 (office365) crash while opening some note pages
After upgrading office 2016 from 2013 (office 365), some pages are not opened anymore. Once I open the page, OneNote crashes forever. I need to del the page from Web version OneNote and then remove the synced books. The same problem is not found in office 2013. I can reproduce the problem on my Surface 1, 3, 3 PRO and my desktop Win10. (The problem is random reproducible. Sometime you copy and paste some web content, your OneNote is broken forever) I use VS 2015 to run OneNote in debug mode and here is the logs: Windows.Globalization.dll!Windows::Data::Text::SelectableWordsSegmenter::GetTokens(HSTRING__ * text, Windows::Foundation::Collections::IVectorView<:data::text::selectablewordsegment> * * result) Line 409 C++ Thanks.
Hi Allen, To investigate this issue, I’d like to confirm which Office 365 plan you are using. If you are using Office 365 Home, Personal, or University, we suggest you post a new thread with the detailed log in our Office 365 Home, Personal, and University Forum ( Participate > Ask a Question ) for dedicated support. If you are using other Office 365 plans like Office 365 Business or Office 365 Enterprise, you may try the following steps. An Online Repair by referring to Repair an Office application If Online repair does not work, you can try right click Start menu -> Run -> Type OneNote /safeboot -> Delete notebook cache. If the issue persists, please try uninstalling and reinstalling. If the issue still exists after you try all the methods above, I’d like to confirm the following information: Does the issue occur to other Office applications, like Word? Are there some specific content on those pages? Thanks, Ran
Okay, I will repost the issue to office 365 Home edition Forum. I think some content make this problem. But, it works perfectly with 2013 version.
OneNote 2016 (office365) crash while opening some note pages
After upgrading office 2016 from 2013 (office 365 home edition), some pages are not opened anymore. Once I open the page, OneNote crashes forever. I think some content lead the issue. The same page works perfectly with old 2013 version. I have found a page 100% reproduce the issue. Copy and Paste this page content. http://www.u-acg.com/archives/6102 Windows.Globalization.dll!Windows::Data::Text::SelectableWordsSegmenter::GetTokens(HSTRING__ * text, Windows::Foundation::Collections::IVectorView<:data::text::selectablewordsegment> * * result) Line 409 C++ Thanks.
I think this is not system issue. I try SFC already. I can reproduce the problem on my Surface 3, Surface Pro 3, Surface 1 and My Home Windows 10 PC. Once I use OneNote to open the note and get this problem. 4 Windows Devices with Office 365 Home Edition, 2016 version. (2013 works well. One the note page doesn't get the problem) Actually, I found 5 notes of my onenote cause the problem. I use my another PC installed with old Office 365 "2013", it works without crash. PS: I am using Office 365 Home Edition x64 2016 Traditional Chinese version. Thanks.

Systematic crash of Oulook 2013 on W8 on IMAP email account
Hi, I am fighting with Oulook 2013 (x86) a long time to know why I cannot make it work on the email account of my wife. Outlook 2013 is set up and up to date, installed on my W8 x86 PC and on my email account and it is working properly. On the second windows account, when I setup Outlook email profile to the same IMAP server but my wife's email account, Outlook 2013 crashes at the end of the synch. It is systematic even if the account does not contain ANY email. AppName=Microsoft Outlook AppPath=D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\OUTLOOK.EXE
Hello, Thank you for your reply. Outlook 2013 with your email account is working fine, it’s only your wife’s email account which is not working in Outlook due to the account compatibility issue. You may take a backup of all the inbox and important folders data for the email account (wife’s account) and ask your Email Service Provider to reset the account and check if it works fine as expected. I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. Thank you.
Hello, If you have the setting to configure the email account as POP, you may configure the same in Outlook and check if your wife’s email account works fine as expected. Note: ensure to check the option leave a copy of message on the server which would leave a copy on the If it works fine as expected, let’s create a test Outlook.com account and configure the email account as IMAP on your wife’s user account and check if it works fine. If the email account works as expected, you may get in touch with the email service provider/Internet service provider and explain the same about the email account. I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. Thank you.
Thanks Raju. Why do you think I should contact my provider and explain him that Outlook 2013 crashes because it donesn't correctly handles something when retrieving emails on IMAP? I posted my question on Microsoft's site because Outlook is a MS product... Anyway, thanks for the workaround.
Hello, Thank you for your reply. Since Outlook.com as IMAP is working and the same account is working as POP, as mentioned in the previous post you may get in touch with the email service provider/Internet service provider and explain the same about the email account. I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. Thank you.
Thanks Raju for yous answer. I tried to use POP3 and there is no problem (no more crashes). Her IMAP account works correctly with W8 Mail (but this email client is really too limited to be used) It is working with Outlook.com IMAP account and it is also working with my account on IMAP with the same provider . I can conclude that Outlook 2013 done not like my wife ;) (Outlook 2013 is the only email client that does not work with this provider on my wife account) Thanks
Maya 2013 APPCRASH, Fault Module msvcrt.dll
I have Maya 2013 and 2012 installed on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. Maya 2012 works fine, but Maya 2013 keeps crashing as soon as it's booted up. I have uninstalled and re-installed the software but it still keeps crashing. I desperately need to get the software working again and could use your help. Here is what AppCrashView shows: Version=1 EventType=APPCRASH EventTime=130096379279623313 AppName=Maya application file AppPath=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2013\bin\maya.exe
Hi, I would suggest you to place the computer in Clean Boot state and check if it makes any difference. Perform Clean Boot to see if any third party services are causing the problem. To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a " Clean Boot ." A Clean Boot helps eliminate software conflicts. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: After Clean Boot troubleshooting step, refer to “ How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with Clean Boot ” from the article. If issue persists, I would suggest you to contact application vendor for better assistance. https://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/ Let us know the status of the issue.
My Acer pc is running very slow after only just managing to load the desktop after many boot failures.
My Acer pc is running very slow after only just managing to load the desktop after many boot failures. When I first tried to load it it gave me the option of system repair which fixed nothing and at one point I received an error message about a d3d10_1core.dll file. I am on windows 7. I tried doing a bit of research about cpus running slow and found I needed to update the d3d10core.dll file (the one below in system32 folder) which I downloaded and replaced after restarting it loaded the desktop again but still runs just as slow. I also found that issues with these files can be caused by viruses, trojans, etc. which I must have had. I can't even do a virus scan because my Norton security won't work and appears to be corrupt, the icon on the taskbar has gone and can't find the app to start it. The desktop icon brings up a tiny window with nothing on it. What can I do fix the problem? EDIT: BTW my cpu usage isn't the problem, It rarely goes above 5%

I have built my first one, downloaded windows 7 as the OS (Using CAD programmes so need this as windows 10 doesn't support all of those that I need to use). I have however, had some serious issues using the windows update tool. I have used SFC scan now, this has thrown up that there are corrupt files. Found a great piece of software, called scanfix now, used this and has shown me the issues, see listed below: SFCFix version 18.104.22.168 by niemiro. Start time: 2016-03-16 17:52:38.714 Cheers, Steve

IE9 taking a lot of time to LOAD COMPLETELY
I've been dealing with a strange problem recently regarding IE9. The window appears immediately by clicking the IE9 icon, but then it freezes for 2-3 minutes. Then it starts to load my homepage (msn.com) without any problems. During that 2-3 minutes if i click anywhere in the window, IE crashes. I suspect it has something to do with the hardware rendering since when Software Rendering is selected, the freezing period is noticeably shorter. Interesting thing is that at the beginning in tools menum only safety and file are available and other items are gray. After freezing they become available though. I've run ProcMon as suggested by an expert and noticed these processes: After starting these two processes the freezing begins: C:\Windows\System32\d2d1.dll C:\Windows\System32\DWrite.dll Then IE9 processes disappear for 2-3 minutes and after that it starts these processes: C:\Windows\System32\dxgi.dll C:\Windows\System32\wintrust.dll C:\Windows\System32\crypt32.dll C:\Windows\System32\msa
Thanks for your reply Vaseem. No major changes other than regularly updating my windows. I also have installed couple of games that had their own Directx 9 c installations. I don't remember any other major changes. I had a serious problem with my DVD ROM though, which was restarting my PC whenever I put a DVD in. Actually I suspect those restarts have something to do with this because it all started those days. Before that everything including IE9 was fine. The Error message if I click on the IE9 window during it's freeze, is close the program or look for an online solution, the kind windows always show in crashes. But if I give it a minute or two it will unfreeze and open the webpages. I've tried your methods already. It slightly gets better with software rendering but still remains. I have also updated my VGA driver (ATI 4670 HD 1GB) both from windows update and its own website. Nothing. It was working brilliantly at the beginning with GPU rendering on. But I noticed last night that
TallTM Usually when you see AppHangB1 that means a driver could be out of date. Double check your drivers and make sure they are up to date. Here are a few things you can try Run this script in the link below this will fix any corrupted files that Internet Explorer uses after the script is finished running restart your computer and see if its still slow in loading. http://iefaq.info/index.php?action=artikel&cat=42&id=133&artlang=en If the above method was no good then try creating a new User Profile and see if that speeds things up. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile Finally if the User Profile doesnt work lets try doing a Clean Boot this way we will see if its another program that might be causing the slowness. Hope that helps some. How to perform a Clean Boot http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796

Correct on all counts except after I uninstalled IE9, IE8 worked just fine for awhile then, went to eat, and came back to a log in screen, so I logged in and the computer promptly locked up, forced the shutdown, restarted, logged in and promptly archived everything, 2 hours later and after countless BSOS's, CTD, and lockups, I was done, wiped the drive and reinstalling everything, will install IE9 a little later, hopfully with much better results I may add that through all this XP worked fine( dual boot XP and 7) as for IE9 not working, when I clicked on a shortcut, IE9 opened and said it could not open the page, very generic error BTW you should add to the Sticky to remove KB2259539 as a mandatory ____, there are no rules here, were trying to accomplish something, Thomas A. Hello Number13, I suggest you try a System Restore to before you installed IE9 Beta. To choose a System Restore point, · From the Desktop click the Pearl (start) button · In the Search Field type “System Restore” and hit enter · Once System Restore is open, select the option “choose a different restore point” and hit next Once on the next screen, pick a restore point to go back to when it last worked for you. Once you select the restore point, click next, then select finish, this will start the restore process. If you are still having problems, do a system file check. Click Start Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: SFC /scannow This will check for any integrity

Hi, Method 1: Run the SFC scan. Follow the steps provided. Click Start. Type “cmd” in the search bar. Right click on Command Prompt in the list. Choose “Run as Administrator” Type “sfc /scannow” (Note: there is a space after sfc) You can refer to the link provided to understand the logs generated by the SFC scan. Hi, I have seen several references to this type of error/problem being caused by a virus or malware. I would suggest you to scan the computer for virus or malware. Refer: http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx http://onecare.live.com/site/en-US/default.htm
My computer has Kaspersky and it detected no abnormalities. I ended up just doing a system recovery to the factory condition. Thank you for the help you could give.
Error when launching Word, Powerpoint and Excel
When I try to launch/start-up Word, Powerpoint or Excel it first asks me if I want to repair with safe mode, I press yes and the launch screen shows up and instantly says that there is an error and that the programme has stopped working. Powerpoint is the only programme that gives me a real error message. It's apparently a problem with the system32 d3d10_1core.dll file. I have tried reinstalling multiple times and I have tried to repair office.
I just checked again and none of the office programmes work now. A few of them tell me that .dll file that if causing the issue, but I don't know how to download the missing file

dwm.exe error on start up
Hello, I currently have the problem that when my system starts I get a dwm.exe - System Error which says "The program can't start because d3d10_1core.dll is missing from your computer. Try Reinstalling the program to fix this problem.". I then press ok and get a new error, msnmsgr.exe - System Error which says "The program can't start because d3d10_1core.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." So to diffrent errors with the same issue. I've tried reinstalling msnmsgr to see if it fixs the problem it has not. I've also tried manually adding the "d3d10_1core.dll" to the correct directry, this didn't work either just gave me a new message along the lines of "d3d10_1core.dll is not for windows". I would much appreciate all input to help me resolve my problem. Thank you.
Thank you, but unfortunately this hasn't solved my problem. Any other ideas much appreciated.
