Coprocessor Drivers
I am missing the Coprocessor drivers for my system. I am running a Quad Core AMD Phenom 9850 2.5GHZ with 6GB of RAM and 2 GeForce GTX 260 Graphics Cards. Can anyone provide any help? I have tried updating drivers for it all, no luck. I have tried updating my graphics card drivers, no luck. I am at a loss on what to do. No, I have not yet to install the chipset drivers. I actually have no idea which ones I need or where to find them. However, I did try using the link you provide to do so and is there any chance there is a 64-bit version of that? I get an error stating that the installer is a 32-bit version and I am running a 64-bit system.
No, I have not yet to install the chipset drivers. I actually have no idea which ones I need or where to find them. Go to the motherboard manufacturer website to download the chipset drivers. Install them and it should solve the issue. If the issue persists, reply here.
Hi Thanks for contacting Microsoft Community. Did you install the chipset drivers? If yes, but the issue persists, you can try the following link: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp37501-38000/sp37730.exe Reply if the issue is not solved.

Short answer yes to the above . I have checked for all updates and read blogs and they all seem to report a dvi to hdmi adapter as being the problem. Not the problem I run a strait hdmi cord to the receiver it worked fine until one of the automatic updates and can't do a roll back far enough
Hi, 1. Have you upgraded the sound drivers? 2. Do you have all the latest Windows Updates? Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Hello Gregor316 Please relay if the display adapter is detected in Device Manager or if there is an error code . Also, in addition to Syed's reply, you may also try running a system restore to a date prior to the automatic update and then check the issue. To do this, please see the link below: System Restore Also, to verify, have you also tried installing the latest available driver for the display card provided by the manufacturer? Sound issues with Diamond Xtreme Sound 7.1 and Windows 7
*original title - No WHQL drivers for certified sound card?* I recently installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and my sound stopped working. I researched and found that alot of people were having problems with the onboard sound chip that I had. I went to the windows compatibility site and found a sound card that was certified for win 7 64 bit. I still have the same problem. Everything looks okay. Sound is not muted, speakers are plugged in, levels are high, speakers are the default output, exclusive control is turned off, and I ran a script to clean out the old drivers. It seems like I have tried every version of the driver, and none of them work. I ran dxdiag to look for problems, and I found that the drivers are not WHQL signed. If they were certified by MS then there is a version that is signed, correct? Any help with finding a signed driver or any other solution would be greatly appreciated. Windows 7 Pro sound got scratchy - Realtek AC97 sound card
Laptop: Toshiba Tecra A4 OS: Windows 7 Pro (upgraded with clean install from XP) Sound card: Realtek Driver: Latest available Realtek 6305 I have upgraded successfully to Windows 7 with a clean install. The sound card was working perfectly until 3 weeks ago. Now the sound coming out of the speakers is scratchy (either when reproducing a mp3 file, a video file or playing a cd/dvd). The sound is perfect when using earphones. The latest audio related download was the the Real Player Cloud software and the Quick Time Player. Windows had also several updates. Toshiba has W7 drivers for its latest WVista models only. For Tecra A4 WXP, Toshiba was using SoundMax drivers not Realtek. The problem is that the laptop had an excellent sound until recently. It does not make sense.
It would make sense if you had installed Recommended updates via windows update, as they include drivers
Visit Tosh support, specific to your model and reinstall the chipset and Realtek drivers, if they have win7 specific drivers

Random BSOD on startup, happens maybe 2-4 times a week
Hi everyone, First off thanks for trying to help. I've been getting a random BSOD every so often on startup. I do have the minidump file uploaded and have an html. Before all the tech information gets going, I do have a few more things to mention, my video drivers have been updated since the BSOD first started showing up. No hardware changes. I did at one point have to reinstall windows due to a full crash, but since have had only this random BSOD. Which started about 3 weeks to a month after the reinstall. I cannot remember changing any programs, installing any programs, or anything of the sort right before or within a few days before the issue started. https://skydrive.live.com/embed?cid=0733068D2B88BF3D&resid=733068D2B88BF3D%21170&authkey=AJEH51CFK5T4kUs Hopefully you aren't having any issues looking at the file. Alright, First off, thanks for the reply Patrick. I went ahead and updated the driver, hopefully it will fix the problem. I'll give it a day or two, might even go on a reboot madness tomorrow to see if I can get it to BSOD again. If it fixes the problem...thanks so much, been soooooo annoying. I'll post and update once I feel I have an answer. Thanks again. Derrick
Thanks for the update, Derrick. I'm glad to hear everything is working as intended. It was my pleasure, and good work! Regards, Patrick

That will allow the entire online community to examine and hopefully provide insight into your issue. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-sound?tab=all eddie b
I haev tried this and it does not work. I have same problem that recording does not detect hardware. Looks like problem is from realtek and that they don't support the hardware that came with a dell with windows 7 only vista. When I run the troubleshooter it finds no problems even though windows doesn't show a device for record options. not sure what else to do and I'm stuck without the ability to record sound or use chat options.
Hello, Method 1 : Perform steps mentioned below and see if the issue persists. a: Right Click on the volume icon present in the bottom left corner of the screen, and select Playback devices . b : Right Click on the Empty space and select Show Disabled devices and Show Disconnected Devices . c : Click Apply and then click ok. Method 2 : Run the troubleshooter and check whether the issue is resolved. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-the-Playing-Audio-troubleshooter Hope that helps.

WinSat keeps crashing and locking up system
I have as of yet been unabel to run WinSat with out it locking up the system, so that the only way to recover is to reset ( power off then back on) the system. I have made sure that all update have been install on the system, Updated the BIOS, tried both graphic card drives form windows update and the manufacturer, ran scf wtih no integrity violations, I have also check %systemRoot%\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore for any thing that maybe corrupt, but nothing is there. Same system under vista had no problems running winsat with a score of 5.4 or 5.5. Here are the last two enties from the winsat log: 5397305 (9756) - winsat\logging.cpp:0815: --- START 2009\10\27 23:11:57 PM --- 25397321 (9756) - winsat\main.cpp:4301: Command Line = "C:\Windows\system32\winsat.exe" formal -cancelevent 281eb2c6-4360-4af4-ba8a-9b33b2c3b5bc Decode Power Usage: 0 Any ideas?
Hi jaketh, Welcome to Microsoft Windows community Answers Forum! You may want to try running WinSat in safe mode. Here is how you do it : 1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears. Azeez Nadeem - Microsoft Support. Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/answersfeedback/threads/ and let us know what you think.
Well, Azeez that was a waste of time. winsat (The Windows Exprience Index) can not be ran in safe mode, due to save mode not loading any but the basic graphics drivers. When I tried to run it in a clean boot mode I get back the error message "The Windows Exprience Index for your system could not be Computed." How ever I did find some of the switchs for winsat and was able to run the cpuformal and memformal with no problem, but when I try to run either the graphicsfromal or dwmformal the system loses the screen and I have to reboot. Below are is the the part of the log for these: 326416 (5096) - winsat\logging.cpp:0815: --- START 2009\10\28 22:55:05 PM --- 133053 (1968) - winsat\watchdog.cpp:0311: Watch dog system shutdown 133053 (1968) - winsat\main.cpp:4909: > exit value = 1.
I figured out what was stopping my system from being able to run the Windows System Assessment Tool, It was the power supply. It appears that it got a little too old and was not able to coop with the load the Graphics card was demanding of it. Swaped the power supply and all is well.
Seening that it was the graphics sections of the test that where falling, I tried installing a different graphics card (ATIRadeon HD 4850) and ran the test, that time I did not have to reboot the system it did it itself. Therefore, I do not believe that there is a problem with my graphics card that is causing this issue.
System32 full of Win64:Evo-gen [Susp]
I installed Avast today and it's telling me I have some nasty rootkits in my System32. "Fixing" it only broke my windows, so I did a system restore and excluded C:\Windows from the scanner. I also downloaded some other scanning tool today called "aswMBR" and it also gave me a mouth full of infected files I've tried This is currently present on my Desktop as well as my Surface Pro (both are running the latest Win10 preview build & are updated) Thanks in advance for your reply
Avast cannot be installed on win 10. I'm not entirely sure about that, when I tried to install it a while back shortly after the techpreview came out it refused to install, but when I downloaded it again today it installed just fine without any trouble.
Hi I agree with mig63. That scan is showing 18:43:52.897 OS Version: Windows x64 6.2.9200 The current OS Version is 6.4.9860 in the Technical Preview. Regards
Avast cannot be installed on win 10. It will be updated next year when the final version comes out. Uninstall it asap. The results you got are all false positives since it doesn't recognize win 10. Only Windows Defender that comes with win 10 can be used on the preview.

DirectX Problem ( Features not Available )
Hi!, I would like an assistance about my DirectX installation. Another problem is i do not have much knowledge about this softwares so if someone knows how to this problem, i would really appreciate it if you can teach it to me by steps. Now going to the problem, my desktop is using running fine till i tried to run a couple of games one which needs directx and the other need a DX9 level card (Unity Web Player). The games i run causes me some errors and others are worse which does not even initiate. I tried to fix the issue by updating my directx but it does not seem to work. Here is my System and Display Information ( from DirectX Diagnostic Tool) ------------------ I found out that all of my DirectX features are not available. Is there any way to fix this? I am hoping for a solution. Thanks.
it looks like you dont have the driver installed correctly for your graphics card you need to download nvidia geforce 210 drivers from nvidia.com install this drivers and directx should work ok
That worked! thanks a lot :)
Need a Video Driver for Windows 7
It appears I have a video card issue... Ever time I open up a game this message appears " World of Warcraft was unable to start up 3D acceleration. Please make sure DirectX 9.0c is installed and your video drivers are up-to-date ". Well my computer says all my video drivers are up to date and I downloaded DirectX 9.0c and I am still getting this message. I posted this issue on the WoW forums and they said I need to update my video drivers but when ever i go to Dell.com It does not give my computer an option to pick Windows 7 and when i go to Intel.com to update my drivers, I get an error that says " Server Error in '/iDUU' Application. Hello kSwiz, If Dell does not have a video driver available on their site for Windows 7, then you will need to contact them to ask about it. Ultimately, Dell is responsible for providing the drivers for the hardware that they ship. Let us know if that helps. I have the same problem and it seems we have the same video controller. Intel and Dell have abandoned this chipset. I have looked thoughout the net and have seen that others are using the compatibility setting on the original XP drivers. I tried it and upon rebooting, the driver uninstalls. There has got to be a way this driver to work.

thank you for the help, but when i had Windows XP on this same computer all my games worked perfectly fine
Hi, According to the information provided it seems that you don’t have an external graphic card and you have a standard VGA card. Whenever you play high end games you need external graphic card for it to run the game completely, so I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer for more information. Check if this helps.

What USB device are you using when this problem happens? Please look for files in c:\windows\minidumps. Copy a few of them to a public share on http://skydrive.live.com , and post the link here. These are the output files from the crash. I can take a look at them and see if I can narrow down the driver causing this problem. Hi mr_greenguy, Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forum. I would suggest you to uninstall the drivers for portable devices and restart the computer so that windows7 will install the drivers automatically, the following steps will help you to uninstall and Re-install the drivers. A. Update your Portable Card drivers. If you all ready have the latest drivers, uninstall and reinstall them, as drivers can quite easily become corrupted. B. Here are the steps to uninstall the network card drivers from Device Manager: 1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. 2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 3. On the Device Manager window, look for the portable devices and let us know if you see any yellow exclamation mark in front of the Device. 4. Right click on the Device and select Uninstall. 5. Re-install the latest network card

Windows already has DirectX11 installed, what game are you trying to use and what DirectX or other error is it giving?
Hi, Did you try doing the install as an Administrator? Rightclick on dx installer then select Run as Administrator. Normally that should help install it w/o problems in Win7 64bit. I am using your method in an attempt to get my DirectX working. I will post an update as soon as it's done doing what it's doing. EDIT: I got the same message, even when I used your method. I'm beginning to become worried, as if I cannot get DirectX to work, the money I spent on this game is going to be wasted...
hmm, I normally use the full installer when I download and install it. I found this remedy if the installer's for web: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistagaming/thread/cc123a72-6b1d-4a07-9528-e6055e0212b6 I tried this, but it didn't work. It progressed further than the problem originally did, but the same error occurred.
I asked a real-life friend of mine to come and take a look at what was happening & he was able to fix it. My DirectX is working without issue right now. Thanks to everyone for all the help, though.
Windows already has DirectX11 installed, what game are you trying to use and what DirectX or other error is it giving? I'm trying to play RIFT, which is in the beta stage. However, I have pre-ordered and paid for the full game, so I need to get this working by the time it comes out. It tells me I need to update my DirectX, but when I attempt to do so, I receive that error. And that is the only error I am receiving at this time.
I have this exact problem. I've recently spent over $100 on new Steam games, and none of them work due to this Directx error popping up when I try to install each game's respective Directx components. I can't find a fix anywhere, and am wits' end, I'm very close to taking it to a computer repair man. However, I'd prefer not to spend more money to get my money's worth for the games I bought... I'm generally a very tech-savvy person, and I'm surprised I haven't been able to fix this. I fail to understand why one needs to be an IT person to run their computer.
Is there any way you can detail how your friend corrected the issue? I know someone with the same issue (on the same game) and I can't find a fix anywhere. Thanks
usually my last resort is to delete the game then start again from scratch. I'd make sure to remove all traces of it in the registry just to be sure. if the DirectX install comes from the game itself, I'd select no and install a fresh one (web install or the 100mb download), then hopefully I'm lucky and the game works.

I managed to resolve the issue by restoring my computer to factory settings and running the game exe then. Have had no problems since, I can only assume I had something installed that was causing an issue with it running the exe. However I'll answer the questions you've asked incase it can help find a simpler solution for if anyone else has the problem. - Nothing happens when I tried to run the game. The exe's did absolutely nothing, no processes, nothing. - There was no error message the exe's just failed to run. Nothing happened. Even after half an hour had passed (I did delete and re-download multiple times but as I said a friend had almost everything the same and they ran fine.) - Compatibility mode made no difference, nor did running as an administrator. - Unfortunately as it's working now making a clean boot won't help the situation. I don't know if any of this helps narrow the problem down but it was clearly an issue with something else I had installed as everything works fine n

Hard Freeze during Games with Windows 7 64 bit.
I have Windows 7 64 bit running on my machine, with an nvidia gtx260 graphics card, with the most recent driver. (All other hardware and drivers listed below in the dxdiag text). Since installing win7, pretty much any game I play will cause the system to hard-freeze at an indeterminate amount of time (sometimes an hour or two, sometimes 2-3 seconds). Whatever is currently on the screen freezes in place, the speakers make a mid-range buzzing/growling noise, and the system becomes completely unresponsive, and requires a hard restart (press the reset button on the case to flash power). The system power-settings are set to "high-performance". Neither my CPU or GPU is running hot, both are well within their boundaries. The system does not seem to generate any error messages, it simply freezes. Also i have been using latency checker.... and so far i preformed a clean boot and the problem still persists with 0 of the non microsoft programs running. ive also tried using the latency checker and disabling some devices and it never solves the problem....
i also notice my base latency is about double when i have WLAN Autoconfig running.... compared to not.
To clarify, does this only happen with files on the external drive? Try copying one of the problem files back to the computer from the external drive and test. If the problem goes away, the access speed to the external drive would likely be the cause.

Hello Faux, Welcome to Microsoft Community Forum. I understand the inconvenience that you have to go through due to performance issue. The computer could run slow due to various reasons, like third-party application conflicts, corrupt files or virus. Let’s try to identify the actual cause and troubleshoot accordingly. I would suggest you to try the following steps: Step 1: Boot the computer in safe mode with networking and check if the issue persists. Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don't run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed. Refer this link to boot the computer in safe mode with networking: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Step 2 : If the issue does not persists in safe mode then perform a clean boot to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts. The Event Viewer reports and System Information file reveal that there are maze of errors. I suspect that a number of the errors arise because, in the search for improved performance, you have disabled services. Doing this creates system errors resulting in even slower performance. You need to stop changing services from their default settings. The other problem immediately apparent is that you do not have sufficient free disk space on your C partition. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. h ttp://www.gerryscomputertips.co.uk/syserrors5.htm
No sound from speakers or HDMI output device
Hello Mary, My system has an HDMI audio device as well as output jacks for 5.1 Surround Sound. Only the 'High Definition Audio Device' shous up in the Device Manager. My system is set up to be dual-boot: Win7 and Kubuntu Linux (gasps of shock and dismay). Curiously, both interfaces work under Linux. It is only under Win7 that I get no sound from either interface. I am more concerned about getting audio to work from the analog jacks. I do have an HDMI cable going to an HDTV, but this configuration is temporary. Nor do I know if the HDTV is 'HDMI-Audio-Aware.' Some HDTVs do not play High-Def audio. I'd like some help getting the analog audio working for now. Decode Power Usage: 0 ------------------------

8.1 Trouble with random hangs and freezes - 100% spikes in SSD Active Time
Hi folks, I've been having issues with my new build. I have a 250 GB SanDisk Ultra II SSD and a 1 TB HDD. I have 8.1 installed on the SSD. On a daily basis, when browsing the web or gaming, I get random hangs that usually last about 30 seconds or so. During these hangs, task manager shows my SSD active time at 100%. Usually the hangs stop, my SSD returns to normal levels, and the computer becomes responsive again. Occasionally, the computer will completely freeze up and I have to manually reset it. My event logger currently shows 400 events for the last five days. These events include: -The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice. -ISCT - CAgentService::AgentServiceInit NetDetect is now disabled since this is not a mobile platform -Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188 rtspu:, {E9F4EBAB-D97B-463E-A2B1-C54EE3F9414D}, Net Scheme Handler, Preferred sdp:, {E9F4EBAB-D97B-463E-A2B1-C54EE3F9414D}, Net Scheme Handler, Preferred

Hi Thomas, Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I can imagine the inconvenience experienced by you and will certainly help you in the right direction to fix the issue. However, I would appreciate if you could answer a few questions to narrow down the issue in order to provide you with better assistance. Did you make any significant hardware or software changes to the computer prior to this issue? Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss during virus scan. Hope this information is helpful. Do let us know if you need any further assistance, we'll be glad to assist you.
Hi Harkanwar, Thanks for the detailed reply. To answer your first three questions: 1. The issue started occurring about one week after I finished setting up my PC. It's unclear whether specific software may have caused it. I didn't make any hardware changes immediately before the issue started. 2. There appears to be no overheating issues. I have a very large case with more case fans than is necessary for my system. At one point I used MSI software to check CPU temp, and there were no issues. 3. I had hangs occur when I was not using any video heavy programs. In fact, at times, I ran video games just fine at times (I played bioshock infinite, which was installed on my HDD, just fine for several hours). Also, I am confident that a virus is not the issue. I have been monitoring background processes, and have seen no unusual applications running. I used both Avira and Malwarebytes to check for any viruses/malware, and found nothing. Now, I do have some news to report for today.
It just happened again! I had Mozilla and a reliable music player open. My system suddenly hung, and I had task manager open. The hanging stopped after about 30 seconds, and task manager showed the 100 % SSD usage spike during the hanging, as usual. Windows event logger showed the following during this: 1:41:26 -TIMEOUT
Hi Thomas, Sorry to hear that the issue is recurring. I would suggest you to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to find and fix some Windows system files that are possibly causing the issue. SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them. Press Windows key + X , click Command Prompt (Admin) . In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow For more information refer to this link: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files Let us know the results for further assistance.

If you have the Catalyst Control Center installed, uninstall it but leave the drivers in place. Then report back..
The issues started after installing Win7 64bit. From what I can tell, the issues are with the video card. It works fine, just shuts the computer down and gives me BSOD.
Hi, What is the exact BSOD (what does it say on screen)? If you can't see the BSOD because it shutdowns automatically, do the following: Press Win Key + Pause, Advanced Options tab, Startup and Recovery section (lower section), press the Configure Button. Uncheck the mark on Automatically Restart (translation from Spanish into English may differ). Click accept. Next time you get a BSOD take note of what it is on screen (what it is blaming!). :) Carlos
Funnily enough, that's exactly what I did after doing what you posted me to do. It seems to be running fine now. I will make an update if my computer crashes again. If it does, my guess is the video card may be wearing thin, as it were. Thank you so much!
Hello, Carlos. I do see the BSOD when it does pop up, but it lasts for maybe a second as it "dumps". I have followed your steps and will take note for the next time. Gracias. Hola, Carlos. Veo el BSOD cuando surge, pero dura por quizá un segundo como él el "dumps". He seguido sus pasos y tomaré la nota para la próxima vez. Gracias.

ASUS EAH5570 driver not working with windows 7?
I just bought a new computer. Got it up and running, installed win 7, but whenever i try to start something requiring some sort of graphics, i get either a black screen, or green and pink squares across the entire screen. That goes for starting games, including the ones that came with win 7, and starting firefox, or even when trying to update the windows experience data. I get an error msg saying that the graphical drivers stopped working, but has been reset (that msg will keep on coming until i close whatever program im trying to run.) Here's my dxdiag if that'll help. Hardware should be win7 ready. Thanks for any help on this.
As a first response: Check Device manager for errors & updated drivers on the video card Check the manufacturer's support site Describe why you said that the hardware was Win7 ready List all other checks you have already done
I believe the hardware itself was faulty. I ran several of the solutions i found on various forums, deleting the current drivers, rebooting, installing the newest drivers, installing older drivers, letting windows keep its own standard drivers and so on. After all that failed, i reformated the hd, installed linux ubuntu. and the same thing happened there. went out and got another graphics card, plugged in, and everything worked smoothly in both win 7 and linux. Thanks for the reply though. Very kind of you.
taskbar icon disappearing when program opened
For some reason and only on this one computer, the icons disappear from the taskbar when the program is opened. It primarily happens with one specific one (called Platypus, program info here: http://ispbilling.com/products/index.php), which I use for my work (from home). Occasionally it also happens with the IM program Pidgin and Mozilla Thunderbird. When the programs are closed, the icons display normally. It only happens when the programs are open, and only fir the first day or two after booting/restarting the computer. If I let the PC run for a few days without restarting or shutting down, the issue seems to disappear after 6-24 hours. Hi Lancepry, Installation might stop if the system cannot copy files. Here are some possible causes and solutions for this problem: · Your Windows installation disc is scratched, smudged, or dirty. Clean the disc with a soft cloth, insert it in the CD or DVD drive, and then begin the Windows installation again. If your installation disc is damaged, you might need to replace it. For more information, go to How to replace lost, broken, or missing Microsoft software or hardware on the Microsoft website. · Your CD or DVD drive is not working properly, or the disc might be vibrating too much for the laser to accurately read the data. For more information about this problem, consult your hardware documentation, or contact the CD or DVD drive manufacturer. · If your computer has multiple CD or DVD drives, your computer might be trying to locate files on the wrong drive. If your computer has a feature to disable CD or DVD drives that are not being used, disable the drives that you aren't using

directdraw and agp texture not enabled game
Ok so I commonly play a game called League of Legends. And when I get to the point after champion selection when the game is about to launch/load it says "An unknown directX error has occurred. Please make sure your video card supports shader model 2.0 and that it is using drivers from the manufacturer." Then when I type in dxdiag and then the display tab and look at my directX features it has Direct Draw and AGP Texture Acceleration: Not enabled while Direct 3D is still enabled. I wasn't having this problem when I first started playing the game around a few months ago. And usually I either have to wait until the game finishes and get a loss or restart my computer and when I check again everything is Enabled under DirectX features. It seems to do this randomly when I'm trying to play my game. I can load and play 1-3 matches with no problem and then on the next match right when it's about to load the error will pop up again. How can I fix this so directdraw and agp texture stay enabled and dont randomly switch to not enabled? ____ Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0

Hi Baskar, 1. Does the issue occur only when you surf internet and play games? 2. Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue? 3. What is the make and model of the computer? I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it helps. Method 1: You may try running the Hardware and Device troubleshooter and check if it helps. Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-troubleshooter Method 2: Boot to safe mode and check if the issue persists, if the issue does not persist then the issue may be due to some third party application. To check which application is causing the issue, place the computer in clean boot state and check if it helps. Step 1: Advanced startup options (including safe mode) http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode Step 2: Place the computer in clean boot state and then check whether it helps. Hi, I keep getting "the sims 3 has stopped working" errors. Please see dxdiag file and windows error log at the bottom of the post. I have tried the following to resolve the issue. Hello Victoria Byers, 1. Have you made any changes on your compute prior to the issue? 2. Was it working fine earlier? Perform the following troubleshooting methods: Method 1: Set the computer to clean boot state and then check if this fixes the issue. To set the computer in clean boot, follow the steps from the link: How to perform a clean boot Note: After checking in clean boot, follow step: 7 from the article to reset the computer to normal boot. Method 2: Perform System File Check to fix the corrupted system files and then check how it works. Refer the link " How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 " to perform System File Check. Note: It may ask for windows DVD to fix and to enable SFC to make more than minor repairs. Some files saved on your computer might get deleted when fixing corrupted files. Method 3: If that doesn’t work, I would suggest you to un-install the game, then download new setup fil

"A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly" - "This problem is being researched"
Hi all, I'd appreciate any help or advice you guys could offer. I have been getting display driver crashes in most 3D games since I installed Windows 7 (clean install) in Oct 2009, usually after about 30 mins play, but it seems random. I thought my ATI graphics card (Radeon HD4850) might be broken, or it might be poor drivers, so I bought a new nVidia card (GeForce GTX 260) but the crashes continue. When I report the crashes to Microsoft I used to get the generic message that my drivers might need updating, but now I get the following message: "This problem is being researched Thank you for submitting a problem report to Microsoft. At this time, we are researching the cause of this problem." Thanks, Nick
Vatsa, My similar problem remains to this day on the first load of various websites with graphics. I just have to sit and wait maybe 5-10sec for the video card to reset. Very frustrating and deadly for a video game but I am not a game person. Microsoft has never been able to give me a workable solution other than get a different video card or computer. Harold
I am having a similar problem where Windows says the AMD driver on the video card stops working. What can I do to prevent the video crashes? I do not have any 3D video. See my question posted yesterday. Harold Etter
Hi Harold, When this problem happens on my laptop, it never comes back from the hang situation. The only option for me is to reboot. Only to find it happening again after a few minutes. Thing is that it doesn't happen for a few days and then starts happening frequently again. For me it happens even when I am not doing anything. I have a Intel 945 GM graphics controller. Latest driver for it was released by Microsoft in Oct 2012 as WDDM 1.0 Regards, Vatsal

Computer crashing during World of Warcraft
The issue I'm having is a full system crash. Issue may occur after a few minutes of play to hrs of play. Usually it causes a brief sound repetition glitch right when it starts. If I can ctrl+alt+del within a few seconds I can usually get back to the desktop safely, else it requires a full reboot of the PC. When I am able to get to the task manager it will show WoW as not responding and no open windows will react. Only method to getting the system back under control is to right click on wow on the taskbar and manually close it. Items Attempted: 1)Driver removal and reinstall (video) 2)reinstall of DX11 3)Deletion of WTF, Interface, and Cache folders AppPath=D:\games\World of Warcraft\Wow-64.exe ReportDescription=A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

How to fix a graphics card that is not working properly?

Okay, I don't mean to sound ungrateful but that WASN'T very helpful. Do you have any recommendations of what driver I need to update? As you can see from my specs, everything is up to date which leaves me to believe it's something to do with DIRECTX 11 . I have also tried System Restore , but my machine only goes back 10 days and the problem does not resolve itself.
Yes, I have identified the hidden recover partition , however my system restore only goes back to the 1st September. The model is dm3-1060ea and I got it last July (2010) off the internet. I was in contact with Intel and they gave me instructions to update the graphics card from both their site and HPs. I downloaded them both. It later turned out that they each were the same version. Intel then blamed it on DirectX11 being incompatible with the Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family card (which relies on DX10). But then I heard Windows 7 had DirectX11 in-built which made things even more confusing!? Is there any way to fix/reinstall DX11 or 10??? I've basically been through everything Microsoft has to offer which doesn't show any problems with my machine or the drivers. I'm now at a dead end. Don't my specs offer anything??
I cant play EA games on origin .com I am running window 8.1
Your HP would have been supplied with a hidden recover partition, and following HP instructions you should have created the recovery disk set. What exactly is your HP DM3 model?, as there are 15 listed for HP uk, none of which feature intel graphics, they all feature Ati Radeon graphics chips. So where did you update your drivers from, HP site or?

Did you recently add or remove any hardware or software? The details provided suggest memory corruption may occurring. This can be attributable to hardware failure (faulty RAM, for example), or a bad/buggy driver, or a driver that is not meant for the version of Windows you are using. The dumps will offer further guidance. General guidance for dealing with bluescreens: Consider running chkdsk on all partitions. Let chkdsk complete on each partition and see if that helps. Also consider running SFC /SCANNOW. It can be helpful to use Driver Verifier. Random "freezing" in Win 7 64 bit
Hi, I recently had an OEM shop build a new computer for me. Everything new except for the hard drive; I was planning on utilizing my previous one since I had no wish to start all over again reinstalling everything. Anyway, at first, everything ran great with no problems at all. Within 1 hour of the first run-up, the freezing issue started. Whether it's 5 minutes or 4 hours, at some point, the freeze *will* happen. I decided to go all in for the sake of troubleshooting and upgraded from Vista Ultimate 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit, also because I now had more than 4GB of RAM. After reinstalling, the freezing still occurred. I just finished reinstalling Windows 7 64 bit again and only had the Nvidia drivers (since looking at the 640x480 display, I think, was a headache) and the Creative sound drivers for the sound card. After about 1 hour, the freeze occurred again. The freeze can happen whether surfing the 'net, playing a game or just leaving the desktop idle. There is one interesting twist to this story -- when I open Creative Trustudio Pro (which came with the Recon 3d and was installed from the disk and checked for updates), Windows will freeze **every time**. Without question. I'm going to take a wild guess and figure that it's a problem with either the sound card or the sound card drivers. In Event Viewer, at the approximate times I receive about 2 errors. One is the "CAPI2" Error 4107 which seems to indicate an unregistered version of Windows which is absurd. The other says: - < Event Decode Power Usage: 0 Any help offered would be greatly appreciated!!

ok one thing thats got a lot of ppl confused after going throught tech support for both hp and logitech is this > if i have no other speakers plugged in, my speaker icon on the bottom right (if you click on it, it opens the sound mixer and such) will have a small white x over circular red background. when i plug it in to usb it installs drivers and says it is ready to use. when i open the sound manager it tells me both the mic and headset are ready But when i try to use it as the default audio device it tells me no audio device is installed.
Has the headset ever worked on this PC & O/S configuration?
yes i have :( didnt help, one of the first things i tried thanks anyway tho
Ok...two things I'm getting then. One from having another look at the headset is that it's wireless and Two, I'm guessing that your PC doesn't have any sound anyways (do regular music CD's play?)? Is that correct?
My computer has sound when i use other means ( i have two speakers and sub ) (just in case it matters my computer is a desktop) and the only time i encounter any of these sound issues is with the headset.
I'm using the front panel audio out for my headphones, so there may be a difference with a USB headset, but - When you open Sound in Control Panel without having the headphones plugged in only the speakers will be ticked, but when you plug the headphones in it will (should) automatically switch to Realtek HD Audi 2nd input ( headphones icon), assuming you are using a Motherboard with Realtek integrated sound. If your USB headset has it's own amp there may be a difference ( have not use USB type). The same is true with the Realtek HD Audio Manager. When the headphones are plugged in there will be two options, one for your speaker setup and one for your headphones (2nd output), but only when the headphones are plugged in. In the Device Advanced Settings option I use 'Make front and back... simultaneously'. This may make a difference in how the headset works in relation to the speakers as well, as using the 'mute the rear....' option groups the two together, cutting out the 2nd output
well i just got it and when i tried it the day i got it (yesterday) it didnt work. works fine on my moms computer which is also windows 7 64 bit. mine is an i7 and hers is an i3 so i dont understand what could be making the difference.

My games are becoming distorted.
I recently installed Windows 7 onto my computer and everything was going fine, but for some reason my games aren't working properly. When I load up some games, it distorts the text and where the placement of the mouse is. For example, when I tried to play Bad Company 2, I had my mouse over the multiplayer button but it was being registered as hovering a few inches to the left. Another example is when I play the online game Aika, if I play it in anything other than 600x800 the text becomes heavily distorted and the mouse has a similar problem to BC2. First off the evidence you present suggests the GPU has physical problems. NVIDIA cards have had many problems over the last winter. Dodgy drivers are to blame. First usie the latest driver which is 197.13 and if that does not help then your card is in need of replacment. Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! You may want to ask NVIDIA or the video board's manufacturer to instruct you on how to use 'Driver Sweeper' and re-install your video drivers. The latest driver is 197.13, but you should learn to use 'Driver Sweeper' to remove all of the left over junk from previous drivers. I did (it found a LOT of leftover junk) and it fixed my video problems. I was also using a 9500 GT by xFx. Drive sweeper is not needed, NVIDIA and ATI both remove old drivers when new ones are installed. Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! Hi, a. Do you encounter any error message? I would recommend you to update the display adapter drivers and try altering the hardware acceleration. Method 1. Uninstall and reinstall the Graphics adapter drivers: 1. Go to Start and right-click on Computers and select Manage. This will bring the Computer Management window, now on the left sidebar select Device Manager. 2. Then go to Display Adapters and right click on it's name and click on uninstall. To reinstall the drivers right click on your card’s name and finally click Update Driver Software 3. You have two options here, click the option that reads "search automatically for updated driver software". If the above steps does not help I would recommend you to update the display adapter's drives from the manufacturer's website. For more information refer to the link below: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly Method 2. Win7 does not detect my video card
Let me start off with saying I'm fairly experienced with computers. I've tried pretty much all I can think of. Not sure if I'm missing something so I'm coming here for some advice. I upgraded from XP to Win7 Home Premium. In XP, my video card was detected and worked fine. In 7, I noticed its not being detected. It shows my display adapter to be "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". I have an ATI HD 3650 card with 512 MB memory. This is an AGP card. My BIOS has 2 options for the video, either PCI or AGP/Onboard. There does not seem to be any other options relating to video card that I can change except for memory allowance which is irrelevant (but I did change that too anyway) I can't figure out what's causing 7 to not detect the card. My Catalyst drivers are fully updated. Windows upgrade advisor did not tell me there would be issues with upgrading to 7. I'm also noticing my Samsung 23" screen is being detected as a Generic PNP Monitor. Related issue? Anyone have any good ideas?? Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0
Found the answer with the help of a user at Nvidia forums. Need to download and install ATI's AGP Hotfix drivers to support AGP cards. WOW that worked

I tried a couple others things which also did not work. Thought it may have something to do with the nForce2 PCI-AGP bridge. Tried a suggestion of running them in WinXP compatability mode. Doesnt work either.. No one has a clue?

Windows Experience Index problem: Could not measure video playback performance
I run the WEI assessment, and during the DX-based tests it states that "The Windows Experience Index for your system could not be computed. Could not measure video playback performance." The last "test" it is conducting is "Assessment Complete." So it's getting close to finishing the DX-based portion. I've also read the help articles around, I've replaced the 8 videos used in the tests as per instruction by http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/windows-experience-index-problem-could-not-measure/a16349eb-6638-4ca4-946c-7fc8bcf872e9 Any help would be greatly appreciated! The last run it did was 7~ months ago, and I haven't been able to run it since. I've changed the processor in the mean time, and would like to know what the score is now! Thanks!

Hi, Do you face any performance issues while watching movies/video or playing games on the computer? Make sure you have installed the latest graphics driver. The graphics drivers are the latest, 8.930, and AMD Catalyst is also the latest, 12.1. The issue was existent during the 11.x Catalyst drivers though. I have not been able to run the test for about 7 months. Additionally, gameplay in any scenario is perfect.
Hi, If you have installed " K-Lite Codec Pack " then uninstall it then restart the system and try again... This may fix your problem.... Premkr. Kongkham Imphal
Unfortunately neither were applicable! One solved the solution for a harddrive issue, the other was a solution for Kaspersky anti-virus causing issues. I did have to turn off my RAM Drive for writing an ISO though, and while the temp folders were in the harddrive I decided to try the Windows Experience Index test again, and it worked! It looks like the Windows Experience Index uses the Temp folders on the system and is not compatible with a RAM Drive handling the Temp folders. Thanks for your help Waseemulla!
Why do I keep getting Blue Screens?
I bought his computer a few months ago ans since installing a few games(SWTOR, Sims Medievil) IT starting crashing to bsod and restarting. Some of the errors include IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA, sYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, and also a non blue screen error saying Hyper transport sync flood error. System info: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt I am literate with computers but have ben out of the loop for a few years so any information would be helpful. Thx ahead of time.
Yeah I have been through the SWTOR forums thoroughly as well and thank you ahead of time for your answer. I have went to the BIOS and set everything to default hoping that will work. I've never OC'd anything before and the person I bought it from told me the software took all the risk out of it so I left it where it was. I will keep ya updated.
Hi, You may refer the following article: Resolving stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-Windows-7
You were not playing games until installing the one's you mention ? Probably the cpu's OC. Try reverting to default BIOS settings for cpu and RAM to verify first. Is the RAM OC'd as well ? Anything over 1333MHz is an OC speed, and is no benefit real world anyway. If you have RAM that is capable of 1600MHz (or more) then the best performance is with either 1066 or 1333MHz as you will get better latency when 1600MHz RAM is run at those speeds. As the cpu is OC'd the RAM should do 1600MHz, if you insist but, if you have not already done so, it may need a higher voltage, (You may already know, depending on how long it's been - the cpu's have built in memory controllers these days, so they have to be OC'd to OC the RAM successfully ). btw - OC's are more stable if done in BIOS instead of software. Some games don't respond well to OC's, and you don't need one with those games anyway, but - SWTOR is a problematic game and there are many threads relating to it. You may do better at the SWT

Hi, 1. Does it happen while you are on a particular application or a game? 2. Does it restart with warning or without waning? If it is with warming, what is the warning? 3. Have you made any recent changes to the computer? Such problems usually relate to driver problems or a virus infection, and you should ensure that you have up to date drivers installed. Sound does not work, and computer freezes shortly after. help please !
Problem is when I turn on the computer. Sound works find. When I click on the speaker, I can actually click on the bar and it makes the "ding" sound. But when I go into chrome (which I am now) and load up a YouTube video, Sound does not work. and 30 seconds after, my computer will freeze and the only way to get it to unfreeze is to hold the power button on the computer for 5 seconds and reboot it manually that way. Funny thing is, I am on chrome listening to music on a music player and sound works. So I am beginning to think it might just be a YouTube problem? Not sure... Hoping you guys could tell me that.. Also, during that 30 seconds after a YouTube video has started if i click on the little speaker in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, (While the YouTube video is running, you usually see a green line going up and down to visually show you the sound, but that green line is not present). But anyways, if I try and clicking on that small bar so it makes the "ding" sound, the whole sound program stops responding.. Hard to explain, but that small window that pops up when you click the small speaker, that whole thing will freeze if you try and click anywhere inside of it after playing a YouTube video. Hello, Is it the only game that has the issue? Perform clean boot and check if the issue persists. To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. Note: Reset the computer to start as usual after the clean boot process. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 Also check the event viewer for any error logs. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-Event-Viewer http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

Since the issue persists with all the media player, even with online audio/videos, also considering the fact that the issue persists even after formatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows, most probably the problem is with the sound card. This thread was started in Feb 2015, before I was made aware of a new issues that MS has created which prevents games that use some versions of SafeDisk and SecuROM copy protection from launching. Midtown Madness v 1&2 use SafeDisk . MS has developed a malware called DRM Blocking, which is installed on Win7/8/8.1 via Windows update - KB3086255 . Any game with a file titled - secdrv.sys - on the disk will be prevent from loading when this update is installed. You can read more details on this topic in my post at --this thread --- - Most games that get blocked will install, so I still can't comment on installation issues with this particular game, especially from a post with no information. .
"Intel integrated graphics? Is it for Intel graphics card but not for nvidia card?" The Intel graphics are actually part of the cpu, not a graphics 'card' as such. Your cpu uses Intel HD 4400 graphics. There should be separate outputs on the back of the machine for the Intel graphics (if the Lenovo I looked at is the correct sub-model of the 10132 series ). You would connect to this instead of your Nvidia cards outputs. If you have not installed the Intel HD graphics drivers (I expect you have not as IntelHD4400 is not shown in DXDiag) you would also need to do that. - Download the Intel HD4400 graphics drivers from Lenovo, or Intel if Lenovo don't have them listed for your machine. If your friends, or a search on the internet don't come up with anything useful I can't add to that. I've not played this game, so can't comment on specific fixes.

Windows 7 not restarting; when it does it freezes after a few minutes; system restore will not complete successfully, etc...
Hello there! This is actually my first time posting to a thread & I'm really hoping I can get some much needed assistance here... I work from home & my pc is my lifeline to paying my bills & I have frequently been having some very distressing problems with it... I had my computer up & running; everything seemed fine except ITunes would not open & all my desktop icons all of a sudden have some sort of weird little arrow on the lower left hand corner that was not there before. When I tried to reboot, first it wouldn't even log off completely, then Windows 7 kept getting stuck in the reboot process so it prompted me to launch startup repair which I did. The startup repair function appeared to run successfully, except I did also tell it to restore the system & the system restore came back with a message saying it could not be completed. It allowed me to restart (although it took a few tries to get it to go without getting stuck), but then once it had completely restarted, Windows ran for about 5 minutes before completely freezing up. Of course I had to restart again & it took numerous tries even just to get the pc to go into safe mode (which is what I'm operating off of now at the moment). I don't understand why I can't get back into my normal Windows & why it keeps getting stuck in the reboot process??? My pc is custom built the system details are as follows: System Information Any assistance anyone could provide me with would be oh so greatly appreciated!!! I am a pretty advanced computer user, but when it comes to this kind of stuff, I have to admit it's easy to get confused & I'm not sure where I should go from here. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for reading my question & replying!!! I have not had a chance to try what you have suggested (been interviewing for a job & my schedule has been crazy busy these last few days), but I will for sure tomorrow! I did manage to get the computer back up & running (seems like it runs okay once I finally get it up for some reason, I run into these problems when I need to restart). If I just leave my computer on when it's functional, it stays that way in general. After I run the Microsoft Safety Scanner tomorrow I will post what it said, I'm very curious as to what results may come out when I run it! Thanks so much for your assistance!!! ;o}

Hi, Check with Lenovo Support, their on-line documentation and drivers, and ask in their forums about any known issues with that or similar models. Check for updates to the BIOS, low level chipset drivers, and the major on-board device drivers at Lenovo. Also update the major separate device drivers - run Driver- View - set VIEW to Hide Microsoft drivers - update those without Dump in there names (see driver update Microsoft MVP

Hello raja1969, In addition to the excellent advice already given I wanted to give you the option to send us your mini dumps so that we can look at what was happening with the machine at the time of these crashes. Can you zip up the contents of the C:\windows\minidumps folder and post the zip file in a public folder on http://skydrive.live.com ? After doing so, please post the link on this thread so that the community can look the dumps over. You may look at the following thread for more in-depth instructions on posting a file to your skydrive: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/4fc10639-02db-4665-993a-08d865088d65 Best regards, Matthew_Ha
green dots in games
Ugh i've been having a lot of problems and have tried checking this site and other places for answers but to no avail. I think i was on the right track with one article on here but the 'nvidia' forums seem to have left their customers out in the cold. Anyway i've been trying to play starcraft 2 and i get these green and i think sometimes purple dots when i try playing it and then when i try to move the mouse it goes slowly but i can't escape the game. At that point i can't do anything in the game whatsoever. It happens not long after startup. I've previously tried playing warhammer: mark of chaos and it ran fine. Didn't play too long so i don't know if it also has problems. This computer is brand new and the only different thing is the video card. The video card may be dying i'm not sure. At first it overheated and a friend said it needed a new fan. I got the new fan (a much improved one) and he installed other things onto the video card to help it. However it may have caused damage to itself and even the computer. He has a spare video card that i will use if things go too terrible. A guy on these forums about 2 years ago named bossdweebe answered a similar problem but i'm pretty sure my problem isn't RAM. According to dxdiag these are my stats: ------------------ Also before anybody mentions something about uninstalling and re-installing drivers i already tried that numerous times as well as physically tried to properly fit the video card in the cpu. The anti-virus is on while i've tried it lately and that might be a problem. I have also tried saving the file for nvidia's current driver update and getting an earlier version people have mentioned is much more stable. None of this is working. I may have to be forced to use my friend's spare video card. Granted it's better and this video card is a year and a half old and been modified lately but i feel it shouldn't cause so many problems so soon. It's an nvidia 9600 GT. I hope this helps and thanks in advance.
I changed out the video card with a really old one but when my computer isn't in safe mode it goes to blank screen after a while. I think it's just a really old video card and a new one needs to be put in it. I'll give more info when my friend gives me his spare video card on wednesday. I wish i could do this a bit quicker but i can't. Anyway some of these problem with the other video card were getting really serious. The screen started having lines across it when i started up the computer and all sorts of things. Sometimes it wouldn't start up and beeped twice. Sometimes it just started up with a blank screen and the computer screen turned off. Supposedly the other users of nvidia mentioned the latest drivers for nvidia cards actually ruined many video cards. I wish i could return the video card but it's been a year and a half and unfortunately my friend heavily modified it with a fan and some other stuff to make it run better. Before this the card had problems but mostly in
Hi , 1. Which operating system are you using? Method 1 I would suggest you to disable the entire antivirus and see if that increases the game performance. Microsoft C++ runtime library buffer overrun detected call of duty and call of duty united offensive
Hi I recently upgraded some hardware in my computer and started to get all my programs installd again, Now I have started to install all my games again and wanted to play. Now when I try to load call of duty or call of duty united offensive I get the folowing error window pop up Microsoft Visual C++ runtime Library Buffer overrun detected! I am now at a total loss on what to try next even more so since I have exacly the same programs installed now that I did two days ago. Can anyone help me resolve this issue ?
I have developed the exact same error with COD United offensive after installing a new video card and installing the latest displey drivers. The only way that i could get the game functional again was to do a system restore back to the point before I installed the new drivers. The packaged original drivers seem to work fine with the software. The video card I installed is an XFX HD 5770 Radeon card. I am running an AMD Quad core processor with 8 Gb Ram and a 1 Tb HD. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit. Any solutions would be appreciated as I want to make sure my card is running to its fullest potential.
Hi, The error code that you are encountering might be because of corrupt installation of Microsoft Visual C++. To resolve the issue I will suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps: 1. Download and install Microsoft visual C++ from the below mentioned link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84&displaylang=en 2. Please ensure that you have the soundcard and the video driver installed. 3. Try running the application in Clean Boot. Refer to the link mentioned below to run the computer in Clean Boot mode. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Regards, Gaurav Prakash - Microsoft Support Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
Thanks for the rather generic response but the above steps have been taken before posting to this help thread. Suggested step 1. Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=BD512D9E-43C8-4655-81BF-9350143D5867&displayLang=en ( since this is a 64 Bit version of windows ) Suggested step 2. Ensure all drivers for sound and display devices are installed as the dxdiag reports: ------------- Sound Devices Rank Of Driver: 00E62001 Suggested step 3. This is what I meant by saying " Run the system with basic services only."

D3D is disabled on my system for 32 bit programs but in 64 bit it works perfectly. I previously did not have this problem but cant figure out what I did to cause this. The dirext x information from Diag is below, the only thing I found which seems to be missing is the setup parameters. I've reinstalled the drivers, set my graphics performance on maximum and tried to reinstall direct x but it tells me its already there. Hi, I would suggest you to download the latest driver from the link below for your Intel HD Graphics GPU: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ I hope this information is helpful.
Windows 7: Audio not working, stopped randomly one day after a few days of acting strange.
For a week or so, my sound would randomly go out when watching video or playing a game. This was fixable with the old "reboot trick" or by going into device manager and disabling and enabling again. The sound would be back until it randomly went out the next time. Now starting a couple days ago there is no sound whatsoever, and rebooting or messing with the driver just won't work. I have tried reboots, system restore, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, uninstalling the driver and rebooting to let windows install it again, trying a sound card (instead of the onboard sound I was using), trying different cables (both replacing the coaxial SPDIF, and trying the optical output instead), trying the Windows troubleshooter, and everything else I can think of. At first I thought it was a bad cable (nope), or my reciever was acting up, but given the nature of the problems prior to the loss of all sound I'm inclined to think it is a Windows 7 problem. I am using an ASUS P5Q3 motherboard and its onboard sound output... SPDIF out to a Harmon Kardon AVR254. The AVR254 outputs sound to my speakers on all other channels (my PS3 etc) and also outputs my computers video display to my television, so I know it isn't a receiver channel issue. Also worth mentioning... I get no error messages and everything appears fine in Device Manager. Decode Power Usage: 0 I feel like I've tried everything, and NO it isn't on mute. lol PLEASE HELP! :(
Hi Burrmanchu , According to Asus's website, the latest driver version is 6.10.2.6585: http://usa.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=diRYz5oR6oCEgWLw By gathering the information from the log files we noticed that you have installed 6.01.7600.16385 driver version, hence I would suggest you to make sure that you have installed that latest drivers on your computer. Also check if same issue occurs, if you have headphones plugged in rather than using the SPDIF. Thanks and Regards: I. Suuresh Kumar - Microsoft Support. Maybe its universal to both models?...but my mobo is not the WI-FI deluxe version... And I don't own headphones, but I did take a pair of generic plug-in speakers from my other computer and try them on this one. I can get sound out of the PC speakers but still nothing from the SPDIF --> Reciever connection. I'm wondering if my SPDIF out on my motherboard has just gone bad? I still for the life of me cannot understand how the problem came and went for weeks and all I had to do is restart my computer, but now it's permanent? What could have possibly changed? Still same exact problem as my initial post.
Hello Burrmanchu, Since you are getting sound from external speakers that you attached, it seems that it could be a hardware issue. The reboot may have itinitally go the sound to work but it seems now the hardware has quit. I suggest you contact your computer manufacturer to see if they have hardware diagnostics that you can run to determine if it is the hardware. No but you can always just install Windows 10 directly, they post the install files for free here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 But even if your system could update directly normally, I would never ask anyone to update if they don't have a backup. If you don't have enough space for an image backup (an exact duplicate copy of your computer), then at least consider backing up all the files you care about it. Updates can and do fail. With a billion users, even a one-in-a-million problem happens 1000 times a day.
Thanks I do keep all my files i care about backed up on another device , I have a lot of GBs so making an exact copy would be huge. I will try that link! Thanks
That entire app is only for information, your selections in that "menu" you found don't actually do anything.
Because the manufacturer gets to decide if their models are "green lighted" to upgrade. If they don't have drivers, or they feel (for any reason) that their system wouldn't be recommended for the upgrade, they get to suppress it in this tool. You can of course still proceed to install it yourself (it's your computer), but the manufacturer (Asus in this case) gets to determine if it should be 'recommended' or not. But I just looked up model CG1330 on the list and Asus has that one on the list. What's very odd is that your system report above says the manufacture is, essentially, "insert name here". It's like your system doesn't have a record of your model number, which is probably why the compatibility tool can't determine certainly if your system is even on the green list. I think if I were you, I'd make a full system image backup, then proceed.
I just found a button that looked like a menu "three lines on top of each other" I clicked on that and near the bottom was "View Confirmation" I clicked that it then said "You upgrade is reserved! " So hopefully this worked. I hate that this was hidden.
What company built your computer, and what is the full model number please?
There's a built-in option for it, here's a great guide by the "How to Geek": How to Create a System Image in Windows 7 , 8, or 10
I do not see how that has anything to do with the free update to windows 10 from windows 7. I have Asus Computer CG1330
how do I make a full system image backup?
so I started to follow that and when I went to save it, it said I had 437.24GB and that it might not be enough room. is there any other option to fix my computer to recognize what it is?
What are the minimum requirements for pc hardware/drivers when it comes to game streaming on Windows 10?
I have an old refurbished PC from Dell. I need to know if the reason why my PC lags so badly during game streaming is because of the old hardware. Here is a DXDIAG I took a few days ago. I know I can't record video, but if there is any reason why the streaming would be laggy/shaky I need to know what I can do to fix that. Whether it be installing new hardware or anything else. If it do have outdated hardware, and that is the issue, I need to know what I need to buy to replace that old hardware. P.S. Yes I noticed that my memory is always around 30% at startup mainly because of "system and compressed memory" and other Windows systems/services. I noticed My Disk is always close to 100% on startup and while playing mmo games. My CPU is about 80% when playing MMO games online on lowest settings. When I am streaming on "Very High" setting the CPU is about 20%. However, it lags terribly. It isn't a time lag it's a glitchy/shaky screen that makes it impossible to play the game. Which lead me to believe that my hardware is outdated and I am happy to install new hardware if I need to.
Hey collintuck :) The computer has quite old parts and is most probably struggling to both run the game and to stream it. Posting a short list of all PC parts would be more useful such as (CPU, GPU, RAM, Motherboard, Storage drives, Case, PSU, etc.). I would say you can check the Task Manager/Resource Monitor and see if anything is hitting 100% usage (CPU, RAM, etc.). This shoudl tell you if something is bottlenecking your performance. Computer Performance/Speed
Before I switched to 7, I was running XP with little problems. I was able to play most of my online games at the highest settings with minimal video lag and a ping of around 60. I was also able to run Crysis , Crysis: Warhead , and Crysis Wars on the "high" setting (setting levels from lowest to highest are: "low", "medium", "high", "very high") with a few of the options on "very high". But now with Windows 7, I can't play any of my online games without having a ping of at least 200 and I can't even run Crysis or any of the other Crysis series games listed before on "low" or any other setting. In addition, with XP my hard drive that I use for evrything other than the OS (games, programs like Audacity, videos, pictures, etc.) was about 3/4 full, and with Windows 7 the drive that is serving the same purpose has 218 Gigabytes free of 414 Gigabytes and my hard drive that has the OS on it has 29.6 Gigabytes free of 50.6 Gigabytes. I have no idea what is going on. Microphone Listen Delay
Is there still no fix available for this issue? Is it really that hard to have lag-free microphone monitoring? Isn't that the whole damn point of the "Listen to this device" button in Recording? Look, I've been around the block with this problem again and again. The problem I have is to buy something that has a hardware microphone feedback is more expensive than without the hardware setup. Plus, what if you have noise-cancelling headphones, but you want to be able to play games AND talk to your friends at the same time without yelling into the microphone when a virtual grenade explodes at your feet? What I want: Lag-free microphone monitoring feedback. I don't care if I have to do a work-around with the Line-In on my computer, but someone tell me how Line-In can be used for microphones. Other than that, it's no the damn driver, I will shoot the first person who tells me to "uninstall and reinstall" the driver, uninstall from device manager, or any other silly/standard fix. This is a problem that happens from the most basic/bare version of Windows all through the various updates. And I've already gone through ALL of them. Random question though: If I took the Mic-In and spliced it onto Line-In, would that work? Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0

Just got another blue screen. This time it was.. Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed. Nvlddmkm.sys Sounds obviously like a display driver issue... But why? I DID download/install the latest Nvidia driver, recommended by their auto-detect thing on their website.. And that actually WAS around when all these issues started popping up.. But it may also be a coincidence, and I'm not sure why it would affect me this hard, and no-one else.. I wouldn't imagine they'd release something that would do this.
Use the CCleaner backup to undo any registry changes Personally I'd install all drivers available from emachines site. Also review WoW FAQ's updates/forums for any info on graphics issues
Well if you've use registry cleaner programs who knows what problems you have created. Uninstall any optimiser/registry clean programs. You can retain CCleaner but dont use the registry tool. Run Disk Cleanup Go to emachines site and update/install all available drivers http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=2080
Hey, thanks for the help.. I uninstalled the two programs I downloaded, and I went to the driver download page you gave me.. At the top I saw, "Need to know the hardware on your system to choose the right driver? Download Hardware Vendor Detection Utility ." So I gave it a shot, as it's supported by eMachines, but it only listed two drivers. One was my VGA, so I grabbed that, but the other was a Wireless LAN by Ralink. I couldn't locate that driver, so I'm not quite sure if I should grab any more drivers from that page or not.. Downloading/installing the VGA now.
Oh, just a few more things to note.. First, I've been getting a lot of graphics glitches.. I play League of Legends, and World of Warcraft. In both games, the screen will freeze temporarily, then become incredibly pixelated.. However, if I alt-tab, or look at another screen, it's picture perfect. Only the game-contents are pixelated. Also, before running the registry tool on CC cleaner, there was a backup made to my desktop.. Is this something I should look into using, somehow? Thanks!

Also, if none of that works... and I hope something there does... I would check to make sure your fans are running and make sure your tower doesn't have a bunch of lint in it. Something may be overheating and causing an auto-shutdown so nothing fries.
Check if the same thing happens in selective startup clean boot Also disable or uninstall the security software and check.

I set my playback to the Spdif Interface in control panel>sound. and when I do I usually but not always get a windows shell common dll has stopped working. when I try using the audio troubleshooting wizard it always sets it back to the analog connections and does not give me any other options. windows is fully up to date. so is office 2007 enterprise, i'm currently running avg anti-virus 9. but i have uninstalled my security software, uninstalled my audio software & drivers, removed all media players "VLC" (except what is included with windows) if i go back to my sound settings SPDIF is still set as default, and when i look at the properties everything looks like its right except it only shows 2 channel format options. My speakers are logitech Z-5500 5.1 it shows its input as Optical and No digital data on the display. When i test my speakers with a dvd player i get sound but not from windows 7 dxdiag 32: Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0
Hi, Can you upload the .hdmp files from the control panel crash to your http://skydrive.live.com page? We can take a look at it then. You should be able to find the crash dumps from the action center. Thanks, Chris
I know your trying to help but please understand I am a technician myself, I may not be certified my microsoft but I really do know what I doing. If this problem was a quick fix it would have been solved already. Just to be fare I have not covered what i've tried so I will now. I was using the original chipset & audio drivers available when Windows 7 was made available to ActionPack partners. I had been doing all windows updates as released up until this problem presented itself. I was original using the analog connections for sound before I moved due to the setup at my new location I was forced to use the optical connection for the longer cable. This is when I noticed the problem. I have tried uninstall the chipset & audio drivers and downloaded the lastest from support.asus.com, removing all media/audio programs that may cause a problem (really this was just itunes & VLC player). I then tried using the lastest realtek audio and nvidia chipset available direct from realtek & nvidia, s

I just finished a fresh install of windows 7 x64 ultimate. and re-installing all my lastest drivers including the audio drivers available at support.asus.com for the striker II formula. Still having the same exact issue as before. including the windows shell common dll has stopped working error. I tried the suggestions provided in the link but still no go. I'm at a lose on what to do next. this does appear to be a more serious issue then just a bad driver it look like a windows issue to me.
Ok i've ran system file check and it didn't find any intergrity violations. I had already uninstalled the old audio driver and after a restart loaded the audio drivers from asus's support site. But, I went ahead a did that again after running system file check still no differents, sound via the SPDIF port is not working. Any other suggestions?

Hi JustCofox, First of all, let’s focus on the windows shell common dll error. This could be contributed by various factors. Sounds like dlls are missing for which you need to run System File Checker. Hopefully it will repair the missing files. Refer: How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 After running the scan, my suggestion is to download the audio drivers manually from ASUS website http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us or from your System Manufacturer’s website. Downloading Windows 7 drivers should fix the issue. Regards, Shinmila H - Microsoft Support Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Lost option to adjust decibels (db) and frequency in Bass Boost
Hello, I had adjusted my decibels under Bass Boost and it was sounding great. Later I went under Configure and gone through the prompts. Afterword I lost the ability to adjust the decibels (db) under bass boost. I have since gone back and tried every option I can think of but now all i get under bass boost is the option to adjust room size. How would I get this option back? ****UPDATE****** I figured it out. Had to select my speakers select Configure, Select the stereo option (I have a 5.1 system with only front speakers and sub) and on the next screen uncheck everything and continue on. Then I have the option for upping my decibels and changing my frequency. Below is my DXDIAG info to compare. Wish there was an option to upload a txt file for it so this isnt so long. Hi everyone, i have desperately looking for an answer to my problem but i just can't seem to fix it. My screen will randomly flicker white, usually while on youtube or using an editing program like sony vegas or photoshop, but it can happen anytime, at first it was only when i would use sony vegas and it would hardly ever happen, but now it is happening almost every 10 seconds or so and it is really distracting. I've tried to update my nvidia display drivers but i'm having a hard time finding the drivers online. tried to upgrade to Win 10 now computer just keeps rebooting
I started the windows update on my HP desktop ( six core amd, 10gb ram ) last night and at first it started to download the files. It restarted and i got the black screen with white letters that says sit back and relax windows will restart a few times etc. when the computer rebooted it was still using windows 7 home premium. It asked for my password so i entered it and the computer booted up and looked the same as always. I clicked to upgade to windows 10 again using windows update. it started downloading 2.7 gb of files. then i got an error, i believe the error code was C1900101-2000D, saying windows 10 failed. I rebooted and tried again. It had the same error. I thought maybe I needed to make more room on my HDD, i had only about 30GB available, so I deleted a few games. After deleting them had about 82GB available. I figured that would be plenty to do the upgrade. I rebooted ran the windows 10 upgrade from the button in the tray and it began the download again. My computer rebooted again. Same WIndows 7 login and so on. Now the computer reboots after a few minutes on iys own. I log back in. Same thing. I tried to do a system restore but before it can finish the computer reboots again. I tried the restore from safe mode as well. No luck. Also I only have one restore point now. So my computer is just rebooting after about 3-4 minutes, I log in and it reboots after a few minutes again. I wish I had never tried to upgrade to windows 10. I can not even use the computer now. When I used updates button I got 4 updates for 1 is for windows 7 64 bit and the other 3 for sound and moniter. I installed those thinking they be needed. I still get those when I check for updates. I tried to install them again but comp. just reboots etc. I also turned off avast thinking that might be the problem but it didn't make a difference. I got a new issue now. Now i get a keyboard connection error during the boot so I can't even chose safe mode. What a mess. I'm having to use a laptop to figure out what to do to fix this. I was afraid this would happen, i should have waited for MS to work the bugs out but I was excited to try Win 10. I hope I won't have to do a fresh install. I have about 1.3 TB of files on my Desktop computer. I'm not sure what to do now. Please help. If I can just get windows 7 back and working I would be very happy. Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0
the computer reboots after a few minutes so i dont really have time to do the things you mentioned. It reboots immediatly if I try to uninstall avast. I'm not sure what to do. When I click the windows upgrade tab in the tray it doesn't do the upgrade at all anymore now. When I go to win updat it just has the 4 updates I mentioned. 1 for win 7 2 for audio and 1 for monitor. they don't update either because the computer crashes and reboots when I try. I can't believe I trusted MS to get this right. Now I have no computer to use. This is a nightmare.
Disable (preferrably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before attempting the upgrade. Restart a few times and try again. Disable General USB Devices (example - Smart Card Reader). Command Prompt to close it and then restart the computer.

Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R)
So I recently performed a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit on my laptop, installed the drivers from the CD that came with the laptop and everything worked fine for two/three weeks. Yesterday however my integrated graphics driver started acting up, the screen would flicker to black and a message would pop up "Display driver stopped working and was recovered". having read that it could be due to an outdated driver, I tried updating the driver for the adapter, but it made no difference. Personally I would prefer to set my dedicated video card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 675M with drivers up to date) as default, but for some reason that option is missing on my Bios. After two days of this odd behavior, and five blue screen errors, with me searching for and trying dozens of fixes online, I don't know what else to do. Here is my DXdiag, hope it helps: ------------------ System Information Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0
Hi, Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community Forums. You have reached the right place. Let us work together to find the root cause of this issue and try resolving it. Hello, Again thanks for the help. I had already tried the method proposed in that post, but I tried it again, juts for good measure. Unfortunately it has been unsuccessful in fixing the problem. In the most recent blue screen error I saw that it reported under the technical information section, the source of the error igdkmd64.sys . I hope knowing that helps. I have tried uninstalling and clearing the driver software of both graphics cards, to no avail. Any other suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Stefano Edit: OK, so it definitely happens more frequently when I unplug the laptop and then plug it back in. I also encountered a message while uninstalling and re installing the driver for the umpteenth time which said there was an error in the inf so the update could not be installed, whatever that means.
Hi, This error can happen because of an outdated video driver, to many programs running at one time or even high CPU activity. There is a KB article that gives more info on the issue and helps to fix it, see: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered Error message in Windows Vista or Windows 7 Note 2: To do so: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/ ) Post us the results after you try the above steps.
Hello, thanks for the reply. I tried running the Hardware and Device troubleshooter and it wasn't very helpful, and the problem persisted after booting in safemode and in clean boot state. As a last ditch attempt I flashed a copy I had of my bios and that seems to have worked, as I am no longer receiving error messages, although I fear it may be a temporary solution... Any other advice? Edit: No sooner had I written this reply that the problem started up again. Oddly enough it seems to happen after the laptop battery runs down to like 5%.

I noticed you are using the 32-bit version of Windows 10. Looking over the post I noticed you machine seems to have a lot of orphaned hardware which is part of the problem
Win7 reports DirectX differently than Win10. In dxdiag > Display > Feature Levels Win10 reports the highest level of DirectX your graphics processor supports. Your machine has Intel(R) GMA 3100 graphics processor. This is an old on board graphics chip that only supports DX9. This is a hardware limitation. You would not have been able to run games on Win7 that were restricted to DX10 or DX11. - If you open dxdiag again and look at the Display Tab > Feature Levels you will see the maximum DX your GMA 3100 supports - " Feature Levels: 9.1 " - Any machine that has a graphics processor that does not support at least DX 11.0 is not really suitable for Win10 if you want to use it for games. Personally, you would be better off going back to Win7, as you will likely have on going issues with Win10. .
I Don't Know Why. You Can Just Install A Newer Version Of DirectX If Your Hardware Supports It

Built Line In won't appear as an recording device
I'm trying to record a radio broadcast by running a 3.5mm cable from my radio to my computer. This worked fine before i upgraded to windows 7. I've checked the recording devices that show up in my sound options and did the whole 9 yards and checked to show disabled devices and nothing more then my stereo mix and microphone pop up. Hi, I am sorry to ask you this. But could you please let us know what build line in are you referring to? Is it something related to Windows Media Player? Please answer these questions to help you further.
that still doesn't answer my question on how to make the Built Line in appear as an option. I know that stereo mix can be used to record system sounds and all sounds the computer processes but it won't do the job.
Hi, I need you to answer a question to help us understand the issue well. · Which application do you use to record radio broadcast? I'm beginning to believe this is just a bothersum flaw that windows 7 has cast on me.

Built Line in has nothing to do with Media player. Its use is to be able to plug an ipod or any audio out put device and connect it directly to your computer. I haven't been able to find this option since i upgraded to windows 7.
Hi, As none of the resolution is working, I would suggest you to replace the line in port and check. You can check for the hardware with the manufacturer. Do let us know if you have any other queries.
Thats why i need to get my built line in audio input source to work. I've read some where that reinstalling my sound drivers might work but it get rid of the stereo mix option and is very risky to people like my self that don't know what there doing.
i don't use an application i use a hand set radio with a jack to plug into a speaker.
Issue with tht e USB on the computer.
Hello, I have Windows 7 PC that I built a year and a half ago. About a month ago I started having extreme issues with my USB keyboard and mouse where at the most random times the keyboard and mouse would basically freeze and disallow me to do anything. I knew the computer was not frozen because sometimes I was listening to music, or was on Skype, playing a game, etc. I would then have to force shutdown my computer holding the power button on my PC so that I can restart the computer where the USB issue would go away. I've tried disconnecting the keyboard/mouse and try other ports but once that freeze starts it's pretty much over for me and I have to restart the computer. I have noticed though that my Xbox 360 controller (connected via back of the computer's usb port) never has any disconnection issues but even starting my mouse on the back port does nothing to fix it. Literally this issue happens at random, sometimes right when I've started my computer and I'm waiting for some of my programs to start (Where I would then be able to actually disconnect the mouse and reconnect to work), or maybe an hour in or a few hours. I never know when the keyboard/mouse will freeze and it makes no sense. Apparently my USB controller driver and some of the drivers were missing but I was actually able to find the drivers on my motherboards website to install them back (not sure how they were missing). But that still did not fix the issue. I've also used MSI's LiveUpdate 6 to try to update certain things, but still no dice. I am not sure why I am having these issues and even trying to find drivers for my logitech mouse and keyboard was not successful. My config is as such: Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130318-1533) Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0
So I tried both safe mode and clean boot. While in safe mode, there wasn't much freedom to test programs that usually have me freeze up on, but even still for usage of more than 30 minutes I did not encounter any USB issues. However while in clean boot, everything seemed fine at first but everything just felt extremely slow (and lately on normal usage my computer has just been acting slow now). All of a sudden my USB mouse and keyboard froze up while the computer was working normally without the usual warnings like the USB disconnecting and reconnecting. After trying to shutdown and booting up again it took awhile for the computer to finally get to the login screen. I'm pretty stumped because I've never encountered this but I'd prefer to see if there's a way to wipe my hard drive and basically start off on a clean slate and start new cause now I'm encountering more issues and system recovery isn't an option in the first place since I don't have any recovery points to go to.

I tried these steps with no success. More often now the USB drivers will disconnect and then reconnect for a few times until they finally freeze up again where I'd have to manually shut down the computer then turn on again.

I have used the Direct X Runtime Redistrubitable installer , i hope it works.

"DTSOFT Virtual CdRom Device" You have Daemon Tools installed ? This may be the culprit. If your games are torrent site downloads then it may be something nasty came with the package. "I can start up a game and when i close it down to start up another game i get an error." This would seem to point to the 'Out of Memory' errors. If you load BF3 before any other game do you still get this error ? How much RAM does Task Manager \ Performance say is in use ? If it's a lot then check Processes to see if there is anything using a lot of resources. So I was getting blue screens before and I figured I just needed to reformat since I hadn't done it in a while. After reformatting I'm still getting blue screens but this time around the BCCode is different. Last time around it was either 50 or 55. This time around its 1a. I only got the bluescreen when I was playing ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) so my assumption at this point would be that it's the video card? But before I tore the computer apart and put it back together I figured I would ask. I don't have the sysdata.xml (it said its saved in the location provided but I didn't see it there). You might want to log into the router and see if there are any messages/logs. Your wireless is using a self assigned address and not getting one from the Router. You can also check your DHCP scope and make sure you have enough addresses available. Hope this helps.

The fact that you can connect with no wireless encryption but not connect when encryption is enabled suggests a problem with your wireless network adapter, possibly a corrupt driver. You can attempt to uninstall the wireless network adapter from Device Manager, download the correct driver, and then install it using the newly-downloaded driver, but as I noted earlier, I've seen some reports of flaky connections with the Killer Wireless-N 1103: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/689010-killer-wireless-discussion-thread-look-solutions-ask-questions-here.html so you may end up having to buy a new adapter.
The fact that your cell phones and PS3 can all successfully connect wirelessly with things set up as they are doesn't leave much to point at. As an experiment, go into the router's configuration utility and disable wireless security. Now, in your computer, go to Network and Sharing Center, click the Manage Wireless Networks link, and either remove it or modify it to have no security. See http://www.home-network-help.com/delete-wireless-network.html Can you connect wirelessly from the computer with no security? 1: When I type in "dxdiag" in the "search programs and files" -- the Dxdiag window pops up. In the display tab of the Dxdiag window, nothing shows up. For example, the "name, manufacturer, chip type, DAC type, approx. Total memory, monitor" are blank or n/a. The "driver" section is also blank/ unknown, or N/A. The "DirectX Features" are Not Available. I would screen snap shot this, but I do not know how to link photos. 2. I first tried to update the driver through HP Assistant, then through the AMD website. Then I went to program files and deleted the ATI driver, then reinstalled it. Same thing happened. 3. Well in the simplest way to say it. I cannot play games (it says that there is no driver {or something like that}). I think it also affect the screen rate too. Like if i tried to drag a browser around the screen. It has a delay. Sorry if my grammar affects your reading. Sorry D: EDIT: DON"T WORRY I FIXED IT.

Hi, Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft community. Check if there is a Windows.old folder on the C: drive your files may be there. See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932912 What is the make and model of your PC, you should download and install the appropriate system drivers from their website.
If you're not sure what machine you have use msinfo32.exe to tell you, rather than DirectX which doesn't. System Retore will not necessarily restore drivers. You easiest way out of this predicament is to use MS Update (I can't believe I just suggested that ........). However, if your PC/Laptop is W7 compatible it should find the necessary drivers. Failing that you need to go to the makers website. Cheers, jerry

Hi Kyle, When your computer hangs, or freezes it’s disruptive and can slow you down. There are a few reasons your computer might hang, freeze or crash. Let’s fix the problem so you can get back up and running. You may refer to the steps from this link and check: Windows hangs or freezes Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss. Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. Important: While performing scanning on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost. Please post with the issue status.

Fallout 3 stops working
I will post things that I posted from a different site to ask for help, so far, no help. I installed the patches and such manually (New to Games for Windows Live and fallout 3 on the PC) I have using factory standard components with this 2009/2010 Laptop and I have played EVE and WOW pretty easily (Though I uninstalled most of these games because Fallout has a special spot on my PC lol) and heard people say if I run EVE on max settings I shouldn't have probs with Fallout 3. I have Windows 7 OS. Everytime I hit New Game, it goes to the Desktop, says it stopped working (Mouse dissapears) so I have to Ctrl+Alt+delete to get my Mouse back and have to hit close program. I have done EVERYTHING it told me to do. I have not put mods or anything in, I have made and connected to GFW as well. Below is a reply to someone telling me to use systemrequirementslab.com I did but I find that it does not support or is compatible with what I have, as it says I can't run Command & Conquer 3 or any of the other games that I DO or DID run I said when I hit "New Game" and hit "Yes" it begins to load, then about 1 or 2 seconds of loading it crashes, saying Fallout 3 has stopped working. I have used laptops with a lot of online games, don't know why F3 has given me these problems. I just spent so much on this and now I think I've screwed up my laptop, I don't know if I'm pissed or sad right now.... I'm not rich for custom, I'm only a Senior in Grad school My Specs
I don't know about Eve Online except that it is quite old and should not be compared with FO3. Neither should WOW. Main problem is your graphics "card". I believe that is an on board graphic chipset as it only has 32 MB dedicated memory. The rest is shared with the system RAM. Not good for high end games. Your cpu is 2.2 GHz, and should run the game, but the requirements on the box say 2.4GHz. You would want a graphics card with min 512 MB RAM for this game with low to med. settings, but may just, and only just, scrape by with a 256MB gpu. (dedicated memory). Whatever the "card". Laptop cards cannot be compared with PC even if the gpu has a similar number ( the word mobility, or letter M says it all), as they always lower the clocks on mobile gpu's to save power, and create less heat. There are only two serious contenders for gaming graphics cards - ATI and nVidia. Only the most expensive high end laptops can be called "gaming" laptops in relation to modern system intensive games. DWM.EXE is broken, any suggested fixes?
Well, after installing an 'important' update, my computer had stopped working, meaning that after I turned it on, it would give me the users page, and then would say 'Welcome...' for about 15 minutes, and then take about 40-80 minutes to actually load my computer's desktop. I could click on anything, except the taskbar, which takes about 30 minutes to click on. I disabled my DWM and everything is fine, but it won't let me play any games on my computer, which is what my computer is for. I have openGL and it only support parts of some of my games, so I would like my DWM back. Here's some notes before posting anything, please: - I have reset my computer 3 times, and this only happens after installing updates, which is automatic - I have had this computer for about 2 years and am just now experiencing this problem - I have not yet seen this problem anywhere yet, even after 3 days of google searching Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0
You need to specify what important update was installed. And if you 'reset' your PC, whatever you mean by this, if under windows update you untick auto install, then your system will function OK whilst you investigate the problem. When you stated you updated drivers, did you do this from Tosh support site?
Your primary problem was in using windows update for drivers, and not drivers from Tosh support site. Because laptops are so propriotary with regard their hardware, and the tweaks that the individual laptop makers make to the drivers, specific to their systems, its crucial that drivers are obtained from that laptop maker, and not windows update

I CLEARLY stated that I had already done a SFC check and nothing was wrong. I have tried restore points and they do not work/they all got deleted somehow. I have updated all of my graphics drivers and have tried installing all of the optional graphics updates also from Intel. I have never had this problem for 2+ years, so don't know why I'm getting it now. I have scanned my computer with DLLSuite, Microsoft SE, and Malware Bytes, and everything comes back clean. DLLSuite says that all of my files are working correctly, and nothing is wrong. EDIT: To 'reset' my computer, I used the toshiba factory default disc that came with my computer. To update my graphics drivers, I used Windows Update and checked every single one of my drivers.
BSOD when playing somewhat GPU Intensive Games
Hey there all; I have an interesting problem that i can't seem to either find the answer to, or figure out myself, so I figured I'd come here. So to start off, let me put down my computer specs. All games that I am attempting to play (Starcraft 2 mainly, but I also have been attempting to play Rift, MW2, etc) Specs, via dxdiag (I apologize in advance for the length of this, I however am not sure of what I actually need to post so that you can have all the information you require to help me diagnose this. I also have another 4gb stick of RAM that I pulled out; I wasn't quite sure whether or not it had anything to do with it. Please let me know if I can put it back in as well, if you could =P) ------------------ System Information ------------------ let me know if there is anything else that you need to provide. I already did a memtest, for the stick of RAM in there. pre-thank you! i'm going to go ahead and do a chkdsk now. Oh, and another random fact, I hear a random beeping coming from my computer when I'm attempting to load programs. not sure exactly where it's coming from.
Thanks for the response: Here's what happened for each method. Method 1: Have done so, but did again. no major change; still froze slightly. Method 2: It seems that NVIDIA Control Panel has blocked this setting?I attempted to find a similar setting within the Control Panel, and I think i found a similar setting. their performance panel. attempting to run @ balanced now, and will go to performance, and let you know what happens. Method 3: The issue did persist. sadly. Thank you very much for your help. so far, chkdsk has informed me everything is hunky-dory. If there is anything that you'd like me to do/check, let me know.
Hi Kirkwazhom, Let’s follow these methods and check if it helps. Methiod1 You may download & install the latest display adapter drivers from the manufacturer’s website . How to update Direct3d
I have 64-bit windows 10 and was trying to run Disney Infinity 3.0. Unfortunately I got an error message stating I needed Direct3d 10_1 or higher with computer shader support. I have everything on my computer set to auto update as far as I know. here's the dxdiag info ------------------ System Information ------------------ P9: !"C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe" -SaveToUserDir -Messaging!AssertLog="Assertion failed: SUCCEEDED(Hr) [File:D:\BuildFarm\buildmachine_++depot+UE4-LauncherLive\Engine\Source\Developer\StandaloneRenderer\Privat P10: ++depot+UE4-LauncherLive!C:/Program Files/Epic Games/Launcher/Portal/Binaries/Win64/!Game!2750662
Youre data showed intel-chipset,as the video adapter. This hardware is mother board installed, this chip has limited capabilities,a add-on video card would update the pc & solve the problem..However, if you think its capable,go to intel.com/support/software/drivers,locate the intel update utility,it'll scan any intel-based pc for updated software/drivers..Once thru,go to microsoft.com/downloads,get the latest Direct X software..You can always check the video ability by going to run,or open cmd, type: DXDIAG run the Direct X tests Either way,you need to update the pc hardware drivers/software 1st

Suddenly ridiculously slow, what's going on?
I can't seem to figure out what's making my computer so slow. I tried running virus checker, disk defragmenter, and a clean-up tool I have, but nothing seems to be helping. I'm going to post to dxdiag to save some time, if anyone has any suggestions that'd be great! I did just reset because it made me install some updates, I don't know if that affects anything, I'm not super tech savvy... ------------------ System Information Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0

I have tried the newest as well as various older video drivers with no change in result. I have also run various stress tests like OCCT with no errors. MemTest also reported no errors. I'm running out of ideas here... please help me out, I'm starting to get desperate. Try looking at the following, these might help define where the issue is: http://aumha.org/a/stop.php#0x7e http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library… Do you know what the faulty driver is? It could be something you installed on your pc recently, if has started since installing something uninstall that software and see how you go.
Hi, you get (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 - Access Violation. You should check the RAM for errors. Use memtest86+ [1] and run it for 4-5 hours. André [1] http://www.memtest.org/ "A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/
You got bugcheck 0x1000007e - SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M - due to an unhandled access violation caused when code in dxgmms1.sys tried to read memory address 0xffffffffffffffff. The involvement of dxgmms1.sys suggests that the video driver may warrant an update, or you may wish to check for firmware updates to the video hardware. Is this the only dump file that is available?
The dump doesn't show anything conclusive - possible memory corruption (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION due to access violation). Perhaps, use Driver Verifier. To enable Driver Verifier... start->verifier.exe->OK->Create standard settings- >Next->select driver names from a list->Next->sort by Provider->select all non-Microsoft drivers->Finish, and OK your way out of the dialog. Then, reboot and use the system as you normally would, and wait for a problem. In the event that the system does not boot completely after enabling driver verifier, boot into Safe Mode and run driver verifier, and tell it to delete the changes. Wait for a bugcheck to occur after enabling verifier as described, and then upload it to your SkyDrive , and provide a link.
Just ran Memtest for 4 hours and got no errors so this doesn't seem to be a drivers or memory problem. Any other ideas out there?
Funny - that looks like delticfollower's post at http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080219123114AA7eRHb...
Hi Andre, thanks for the reply. The following is the dump file: http://cid-f0bdd8e1f0d6aa64.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/070610-12531-01.dmp
Hi, please upload the file "C:\Windows\Minidump\070610-12531-01.dmp" to your SkyDrive [1] and post a link here, so that we can see what is causing theissue. Drivers have been updated and I still got BSOD. I then also removed 1 of the video cards so that I was only running 1 without SLI and still got a BSOD. I will run the memtest now. Here is the latest information: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff80002fb25ba, 0xfffff88007704750, 0x0000000000000000). Recent windows 10 upgrade from 7 professional 64
Hello, I have just upgraded from windows 7 prof 64 to windows 10 and now my mic is all distorted, sounds like a robotic demon. I've googled and tried the various fixes for the last 3 days. What I've tried that hasn't worked: Drivers uninstall/reinstall all up to date P9: P10:
anyway to fix it without a clean install. I have a few editing projects on my computer and I'm worried about them not loading right it i try to reload them from backups.
Robert I would try several things before wiping. Please read this wiki to find out how to find and upload your event viewer logs Please run a system file check (SFC) & DISM if you are on win 8 or higher All instructions are in our Wiki article below... Should you have any questions please ask us. System file check (SFC) Scan and Repair System Files If we cant find anything from the above please run a windows performance recodrer trace using the "audio configuration In order to diagnose your problem we need to run Windows performance toolkit the instructions for which can be found in this wiki If you have any questions feel free to ask Please run the trace when you are experiencing the problem
If you used "general" there should not be a 3rd iteration. Only the boot config restarts 3x. You should also have logging mode set to file and if you want to make a smaller file change the detail level to light. You can always right click WPRUI in task manager and kill it
Obviously you did not run wprui but rather typed wpr in an admin command prompt. To turn it off type wpr -stop in the same elevated command prompt (or wpr -cancel)
I ran the Windows performance recorder trace. How do i get it to stop now? it boots up with my computer now and keeps filling my temp folder with 800 gigs. When i manually stop them they come back after i reboot.
Actually i did run it through the ui i followed the instruction you linked from the wiki. Every time i restart the wpr loads on start up. I had tried the wpr - stop and it didn't work. I tried uninstalling that didn't work. What happened is it was frozen on the 3rd iteration I think and that cause all the trouble.
Yea i think that's where i made the mistake i did the boot one. I tried killing it but even with it close the system is still writing the logs to the hard-drive. i Uninstalled Wpr and they are still be written. they keep filling up my hard drive they were 900 gigs again today before i deleted them. Is there something else i need to delete to get them to stop. Try a o/s repair.
Unfortunately the upgrade process can fail. At this point you should probably just create a Win10 media disk and do a clean install. Backup your docs first.
Decoding issue with Windows Media Player and Windows Media Files
With my fresh copy of Windows Vista came a lovely Windows Media Player of the latest version (Notice the sarcasm already), here I tried to play videos and something complicated came up. It seems that using the Windows Media player, with no additional codecs installed, would not player any file type correctly, I will explain what I mean in a minute. Now when playing filetypes such as .avi and .mkv in other players like VLC Media Player and DivX Player, it has no problem, but it still cannot play .wmv files. Now the problem I mean is this, it only seems to decode Red Chroma, and sometimes blue, which is rather odd considering it mainly affects Windows Media Player and Video. An example of this is shown here in this link: http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn31/Bestofworst/DecodingIssue.jpg Now even after trying to play it on Windows Media Player Classic, and downloading several codec packs suck as K-Lite and CCCP, it has come to no avail for my problems. I've concluded that it must be a Corrupted Codec issue with my installation of Windows Media Player, and I want to know how I could fix it, or if I was completely wrong on my analysis. System Restore is not an option, that I remember this happening long since I can remember it happening. Most videos I play worked fine on my old computer, but now don't work so well here. Edit: I've recently used something called Codec Detective, that can be foudn in http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Sherlock_The_Codec_Detective.htm. [No codecs were found broken.] So this isn't a broken codec issue, just a terrible playeR? Or completely fubar videos?
The issue has been fixed, if you have this problem and are also having troubles running Fallout 3, try uninstalling GamerOSD, it has been confirmed to cause video playback problems. Source: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23320007-Video-playback-issues-with-new-I7-build
Display driver Intel graphics accelerator drivers for windows vista(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered fix?
"Display driver Intel graphics accelerator drivers for windows vista(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered" occurs every 15 minutes for me. The computer screen freezes up, then goes black, and finally recovers but with the error message in the bottom right hand corner. Im running Windows 7 Ultimate. Can anybody help me fix this? Here is my DX Diag report: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/17/2013, 23:18:39 Force scaling Decode Power Usage: 0
Hello, It sounds like a driver problem - a Vista driver in a Windows 7 system. Let me suggest that you visit the following Intel site: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx . Let it detect your system and recommend a graphics driver for you. Let me know if this fixes the issue for you. Regards, BearPup
Thanks for the reply man i hope it works.
