XP Pro will noy install properly
in the last couple of weeks i've had troble with soft ware not working propely & even reintalled some programs. but it didn't make any difference. I defraged & run diskchk (to fix any errors) several times, it said it had bad sectors & corrupt files which it repaired. So put a new hard drive & went to install a fresh install of windows XP Pro. but I kept getting a message saying Setup can not copy the file ; usrrtosa .dll , usrsdpia.dll , uspshuta.exe ,ks.sys modem.sys , parport.sys , wdmaud.drv , pjlmon.dll , ndisuio.sys , processr.sys , amdk6.sys , autoconv.exe , hid.dll , mssmbois.sys , msvbvm60.dll , nic1394.sys , sonydcam.sys & allso ntfs.sys was not copied correctly & latter on the blue screen come up with a stop error code 0x0000004E (0x00000099, 0x00036C1B, 0x00000003, 0x00000000)
No I disconected eveything pulled out all cards , went back to the bare essentials . Only ps2 keyboard & mouse & standed screen & of coarse CD drive It was a brand new cd straight from microsoft with no scratches The cd/dvd drive is ok Any way I thought it may have been the RAM or dirty conection so I pulled them out & cleaned them & tried the install again & it went through ok . Done all my updates , installed Avast , checked if all hardware were installed & found Multimedia Audio Controller driver not installed . no matter what I done it would not work . Had the origional disk & also downloaded it . Then it blinked & said it just recoved from a blue screen . I tried installing the printer & got though to where it said to connect the printer & it came back & said cannot install this hardware (deskjet 300) . Ill try again shortly if it dosn't go in the bin first .
Failure to install an operating system is usually caused by (in order of probability): 1. You are attempting to install with other devices connected to the computer. Disconnect them before trying to do an installation. 2. Faulty installation media. Check the installation CD/DVD for scratches, smudges. Test in another machine. 3. Faulty optical drive. Test with another bootable CD/DVD or swap it out for a known-working one. 4. Faulty RAM. Test with Memtest86+ from www.memtest.org . You will download the .iso to make a bootable cd. Burn the file with third-party burning software* - as an image, not as data. Then boot with the media you made (you may need to change the boot priority in your BIOS so that the optical drive is the first boot device). The test will run immediately. Let the test run for an hour or two - unless errors are seen immediately. If you get any errors, replace the RAM. *It is not necessary to have third-party burning software in Windows 7 since Win7 can natively burn
Windows XP, I cannot install or use printer. Error screen says Print Spooler Service isn't running. Help!
I am having an ongoing problem with my spooler. When trying to add a printer or use existing printer, I get an error message that printer spooler service is not running. I have tried tirelessly to make this work. I am aggrivated. Please Help!! Microsoft Support hasn't been of any help either. THey only suggested wiping my PC and re-installing Windows, that is not feasible, This is the spooler log I could find regarding the issues. xml version="1.0" ?> - Refresh button, or try again later. The following tags were not closed: SpoolerErrorLog, EventLogData. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/spoolerlogs/spoole...
Do you mean you see a message like this: Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running. What existing printers do you have installed? Let's start with the easy stuff... If you already have some printers installed, they are not showing up in the Printers and Faxes window. Check and see if the Print Spooler Service is running and if it is not running, start it. To do that: Click Start, Run and in the box enter: services.msc Scroll to the Print Spooler Service and if the Status column does not say "Started", right click the Print Spooler Service, Properties and set the Startup type field to Automatic. Click the Start button to start the Print Spooler Service and verify the Status column now shows the Print Spooler Service is Started and the Startup Type says Automatic. Reboot your system and check the status of the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service has started Automatically and that your changes "stick".
